Why does the video show that the terrain where the hospital will be built is ~50 ft above the intersection of Glebe View and Broadlands? From looking at elevation maps and driving by the intersection, the land where the hospital is proposed is lower than the intersection of Glebe & Broadlands.

    2 question about the video:

1- Why would helicopters be hovering overhead, when there is NO HELIPAD PLANNED FOR THIS HOSPITAL? Another false statement by the Anti-BRMC folks directly intended to intimidate and confuse the public.

2- 16 ambulances per day 'traveling through our neighborhoods'? I know a couple of friends who are paramedics and the idea is to always stick to major roads, since they can travel at higher speeds and more safely on them. This video tries to make it sound like 16 ambulances will be rushing through side-streets in Broadlands everyday, which is completely false. Most will come from Belmont Ridge (where the ambulance entrance is located), from the Greenway, or from Claiborne Parkway.

As a side note, the opening sequence shows ground elevations which are totally incorrect, as well as CONVENIENTLY REMOVING ALL PLANNED BUFFERS between the hospital and homes, located 600 feet away or more.

The twisting of the truth, and making statements which have been DOCUMENTED as being untrue are part of the reason why I believe CCB will ultimately fail in it's battle against BRMC. Funded by a direct competitor of BRMC, run by resources who hide in the shadows and refuse to divulge any information, who fly in folks from out-of-state to talk on behalf of Broadlands residents, this organization is what makes our community look bad, not the arrival of BRMC. Fear of competition and an eagerness to continue a healthcare monopoly in Loudoun County are really what this is all about; Why would Inova be pouring in thousands and thousands of dollars into CCB? Inova isn't here to protect Broadlands residents, they're here to protect their organization and coffers, plain and simple.

We need an additional hospital in Loudoun County NOW. Not in another 10 years.

This is not a political battle but CCB is running their campaign like one.

Wonder when we will see depictions of "swift boats" pulling up to the hospital? ;)

    Like Harry Truman once said,

"If you can't convince them, confuse them."

The Meeting actually has been postponed until October 15th. This is because of a error on the public notice signs. The newspapers reported it correctly but the signs that were posted along the property had the wrong location of the meeting.

The Broadlands HOA Board of Directors recently voted to endorse the new hospital. Does anyone have a copy of the resolution? If so, can you post it?

Thank you! I was under the impression it had been finalized. I guess the Board voted to do it, but hasn't drafted and signed yet. I'll look for it next month.

I know vacliff replied, but if it helps: I was at that board meeting and even I was confused as to whether or not they were officially endorsing the hospital. I thought they weren't.... :conf2:

so don't take it too hard.

Given that there was only one person at the meeting in September, I'm sorry you were confused!
A motion was made, seconded and it carried 4-0-4.
If you attended the August meeting, you are correct, no decision was made then.

    Cliff,

Are the meetings always held at 5:30pm? When is the public portion of the meeting? i.e. towards 5:30pm or later?

    Thanks
    Genco

I know you asked Cliff directly, but I happened to be here with the answer. The meetings are the 2nd Tuesday of the month at the Nature Center at 5:30. The owners comments section is usually right after approval of the previous month's minutes and the LC Sheriff's office report, usually no later than 6:00

However we have never had a resident that showed up later or at least after the resident comment portion that we did not allow to speak.
So if you would like to come and speak I am sure you will be given an oppertunity.

It would help if the agenda for the board meeting is posted more than one day before the meeting so that we know what topics are going to be discussed. Hard to plan with so little notice.

    Thanks

I have only recently started posting the agendas on line. I usually don't get it until the Friday before the meeting..
Any resident is always welcome to call the office or inquire about what the Board will be discussing at a meeting.
Given the usual lack of attendance at the meetings, where/when agendas are available has never been brought up as an issue.
As it pertains to this issue, a local paper reported on our discussion back in August. A reporter happened to be at the meeting.
