I have been a quiet reader for a long time on this topic. I have not always been a supporter of the hospital (7 years ago), but did my research, as well as a "soccer mom" can, and changed my option years ago. i live close to the hospital, off braodlands blvd., less than a 1/2 mile away. I SUPPORT the hospital. i wrote to the old BoS and had my email ref. in a meeting. I have spoken to the new BoS. This forum is not going to change anyone's mind that is against the hospital. BUT........(my husbands says i always have a but) how are the streets not going to be safe because of a hospital? an office park is going to make it safer? we already have sex offenders in the area, (yes, Broadlands) and people speed up my 25mph street. (some of the arguements that i have read and heard about why NOT to have a hospital.) the noise from ambulances is only when someone doesn't move out of the way or at an intersection. (the sirens are turned off when someone is inside it otherwise) Plus.........if someone's life is in danger, who cares about the noise?! the people that bought those houses were aware, or should of been, that a hospital was planned for that site. (this hospital was talked about over 7 years ago.) and as for the property value going down, my soccer mom research proved nothing of the sort. as for Lee and his pompus opinions, why would ANYONE put money into a fund to help out someone that made a decision about a home. if that is the case, i should of been awarded tons of money for the loss i took on a condo when no race tracks or "disney" history park were built in this area.
lastly, and of course this is only my opinion, why don't we all just put Lee on ignore if we are sick of hearing him babble on and on.

You make some really good points, as do many people who support the hospital. I just wish other people, like the biggest INOVA detractors would understand when people are skeptical of their posts criticizing an INOVA visit. You have to consider the source.

Is trashing inova the right way to get another hospital?????

Something is weird going on perhaps the full moon last night. ;) I don't get it I have been both to Inova and the HCA reston one and the care was wonderful at both. I know doctors at both and they are all wonderful doctors. the Bos will approve this hospital and so lets get on to more important things. I believe this issue is a done deal and will be approved, so I am moving on and yes this is my last post on this issue. The economy is going to be the real issue for the next several years, not this hospital which will take another 4 or 5 years before it is even open. So who knows what things will be like in that time frame. Many of us will have moved away many of our kids will grow up and get married in this very long time frame to get this hospital built.

With the economy not looking good for Loudoun this hospital might be the one bright spot for construction for the next many years. Perhaps I should go back to school and become a doctor so I can work at this hospital. ;)

    Forum Admin-
DO NOT close this thread because of Lee's continuous blathering. If Lee is the problem then get rid of Lee, not the thread.

I said 32 families because I counted 32 families that spoke. All of the kids and other people with shirts....I don't know who they are.
I point out 32 families because that is how many Broadlands households were there to speak about it.

I also spent 3 hours out of an evening away from my family because I do care what people have to say. And yes, I saw your husband. I don't "twist" anything.

So please stick your implications about "my own self interests" in your ear.
If I behaved like you, I guess I would assume your attacks on me are because of my opinions of your husband's driveway sealing job he did for me. Let it go.

    Cliff,

I am not sure who you think I am, but I have never created a public profile in this forum. My husband and I have never met you and have no idea what you even look like. Your assertions are insane about your own self interests. My post said that I do not think you are motivated by your own self interests. I question some of your decisions, please reread my message.

Also I guess you want me to stick in my ear my assertion that you are not motivated by your own self interests? Very nice.

Happy Easter, everyone! In the end, the issue of whether a hospital is built on the fringes of Broadlands is minor compared to other issue in life. :)

My bad. Misread. Humbly apologize. I will now stick my own mouth where the sun don't shine. Been out of town for a week and trying to catch up and read too fast.

:nono: What a LOW BLOW! Questioning the veracity of a parent who was trying to get his injured child medical care. This is absoutely despicable, but in no way surprising.

My family has always received great care (even in emergencies) from Loudoun Hospital. However, I thank qzpmal for sharing his experiences.

:pofl:You claim to know about HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Privacy Act of 1996), but you keep referring to it as HIPPA? If you had misspelled it just once, I would have thought it was a typo. However, you did it three times in three sentences. Some advice to the forum: it's unwise to get advice on health privacy issues from someone who cannot spell the law's name.

Gryphon, don't you mean "Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act" (HIPAA). Hopefully the forums take your advice

Darn - busted. 5 years were really just a sham. It never happened, how do you know? Because I don't pay attention to the acronym 5 years later. Some advice to the forum - if all you got is to pick apart typos - don't bother.

If you are going to chastise someone you should at least get it right yourself!

It is Health Insurance Portability and ACCOUNTABILITY Act.

JEEESH! You could throw a stone in a glass house and still not break anything!
