I think it's nice that she thinks everyone is 'the one to beat'.

Waaahhh...Nadia's out. I always enjoyed her style and willingness to expand and try something new. I hope I catch next weeks show...it was funny seeing the elimination round without the benefit of how they had performed.

Any new thoughts on who will be the next Idol?

I am sooo dissapointed that Nadia was botted off. I think America is crazy and still think she and Bo are the most "idol" like. I don't even know why Scott and Anthony are still on the show -- not that I am knocking them -- they are talented -- but not like the others.

I guess Constantine is making headway and could actually take this thing. Although he's not the best singer, he has presence and know how to pick songs that will make him look good. I think even Bo has taken some "smoldering" lessons from him. LOL!

It definitely shows that Constantine has had acting experience and that he knows how to use it to his advantage in his performances!

I believe Bo is talented but his genre is not what I would choose to listen to! I also enjoy Anwar's voice and hope that he keeps doing well.

Darn...I can't comment more since I've missed the past weeks performances.

I am not really a fan of the genre that Bo usually sings in either. But he makes it more interesting to me than it normally would. I am kind of glad they got a couple of longhair guys this year because to me, my humble opinion, most of the singers over the last three years are all starting to sound the same to me. Nadia (who was bumped off), Bo and Constantine, at least aren't the same old, same old. They almost seem fresh to me. Carrie is good and so is Anwar, but for me, they don't really sound unique or interesting. And Vonzell, as good as she is, doesn't really match up to the ones I just mentioned in my view. But hey, she might go on and win the darn thing.

My money is riding on Bo or Constantine. But I'm not actually betting.

well...next week it will be all over....it was interesting to review this thread after the passing of time. Guess it looks like Bo will be the next idol. He certainly ventured into areas noone has ever tried before him and pulled it off when he sang archepello (sp?). Wow!

I have to admit, Bo really took it this week. He truly showed he could sing. Although it was sort of stupid of Paula to have him sing "Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones. Not a great choice for anyone actually. But Bo really nailed the other two songs and proved (to me and my wife at least) that he has what it takes.

Carol - yes, his "acappella" version was pretty darn good.

Reminded me of myself :D in HS when we had to sight-read and sing acappella for the All-State choir competition.

Ugh...high school choir. I had to take a semester of 'men's chorus' to get my fine arts credit so I could graduate with honors...they ended up sticking me in quartet and we had to preform in front of a bunch of people at UTenn for the state comp. Not good times...

I will concede that I do believe now that Bo does have what it takes to be an idol. He has presence; personality; and his vocals (in my humble opinon) improved dramatically from the beginning of the season. Yes, I also enjoyed watching the footage from when he went back home to AlaBOma! :)

Carrie has an amazing and strong voice but she really needs to work on her stage presence. She still comes across to me as stiff and unnatural.

Paula did make one comment right about Bo...after next week we'll be having to pay to see him perform! Totally agree about the inappropriateness of Rolling Stones...but what do you expect from Paula!

And last but not least, thanks Tator for my spelling error!

Okay. As I was saying....Bo singing with 2 of the original members of Lynyrd Skynyrd was awesome. I would've paid big bucks to see that live. He does sound a lot like Ronnie Van Zant.

I'm glad Carol is coming around on Bo, despite his long hair. And I agree, Carrie is good but doesn't have the strongest stage presence and simply doesn't have the strength or the range that Bo does.

Most of all, I would pay for a Bo Bice CD if one comes out (and I assume one will).

Lastly, it is my humble opinion that overall, the contestants this year were (and are) much stronger than last year.

Actually it was not his long hair that I objected to initially...before the seasoning one can observe from his performances, I did not like the original crackly sound of his voice...but these last 4 weeks have made a dramatic difference!

I will be first in line for the BO CD! I got goose bumps when he sang acapella...

Sorry Carol, I didn't mean to put words into your mouth. From my perspective, all along, I thought it was interesting to me how Bo could take songs that weren't of much interest to me and make them interesting. I think you're right though, he has definitely improved over the last few weeks.

And I agree with Marielaveau, my wife and I were quite taken by his acapella singing. I don't think many others could have pulled that off.

So we'll see what America thinks next week.

I agree with all the comments that Bo's acapella was amazing! He has definitely raised the barrier for next years contestants.

Did anyone watch Idol's best of the worst last night? I didn't since it was at the same time as the final apprentice.

The American Idols tour is coming to the MCI Center on July 27...should we plan a Broadlands field trip? :D

I'll plan bathroom break and beer run around Scott's performance. [:p]
