I think Bo Bice is the greatest!! Did you hear him this past week? What a great voice. The last time I liked an American Idol contestant it was when Kelly Clarkson was trying to win the first time around....Bo will end up being way bigger than Kelly though.

I would have to agree with you Cappy. Bo seems like a real star than many of the others, including previous winners. And he seems like a fairly down-to-earth guy.

It certainly came through so clearly that he had had previous exposure as a performer and knew how to play to the crowd. While not being thrilled (for a period of time) to his voice, he made me come around because as folks pointed out, he knew how to personalize the songs and make them interesting whether one didn't like the song (or his voice)!

I was the lucky winner of the Mix 107.3 American Idol Top 12 Party contest.
I am able to listen to the station while driving to and from work and won the contest the first week of March. I'd never won anything before and was thrilled to go see them for the Top 12 Party. March 8, my daughter's Birthday, we flew to Los Angeles to stay at the Sofitel Hotel across the street from the Beverly Center Mall where we were awarded $500 to spend.
March 10 we went to the party at 7Pm and met the American Idols at about 9:30.
Fox network had a red carpet set up for the press to interview the kids.
I got photos of all of them and autographs of several. I was lucky enough to get some of them to pose with my daughter who is a freshman at Stone Bridge.

The entire experience was wonderful and exciting. Fox network had arranged everything from the email for our tickets, to the hotel and spending money to the limo ride to and from the party.

Most importantly, every one of the American Idols was friendly, accomodating and polite. It was very apparent just how excited and how amazed they were to be there that evening.
I'm glad Bo and Carrie made it to the end since they've been my favorites from the start.
I have to say I am partial to Bo winning tho.
Here is a photo of Bo with his autograph http://aloel.com/A/BoBice_autograph.jpg

He was very gracious that night [8D]

That 'autograph' looks like he signed it with photoshop or a lightsaber.

And? Everyone's had their own problems...who are we to judge?

I was wondering if that was going to come up with the discussions or not....

I think for once I'm in agreement with Brim...everyone's had their problems...and more power to Bo for going beyond his.

I had all of the Idols sign a white paged spiral bound book so I could add photos later.
I cropped his photo and added the autograph over it with an outline so it could be seen on the dark background.

This light saber was a medium width Sharpie :)

I agree with Brim and Carol. Who are we to judge? Besides, Bo paid his dues and did not hide his past from AI officials. SO I see the whole thing as a moot point.

Now Corey Clark is another story......

The countdown is on...Can't wait to see the show...while I love Carrie's voice I just can't see how she can outdo Bo on stage presence...

Well, I agree but things seemed a little stacked against Bo last night. I am scared to watch tonight because Carrie might actually make it. I think she was off last night but the judges were much kinder. If she wins (as nice as she seems) there is no reason to wacth this show anymore.

    Drastic huh?

Doesn't matter who wins, both will get nice contracts and we'll see an albums in short order. I'd be suprised if they've not already started production on them.

I would not count Carrie out yet. The "country" genre is vastly larger than the "rock" genre these days. I remember hearing/reading somthing that there are over 3000 country radio stations in the US and less than 800 true rock stations.

I think Bo will win but hey, who cares!

It'd probably be more beneficial to "lose" tonite and not be tied to the AI contract and all its rules. I'm sure the loser will end up getting a contract as well.

I'm pretty sure they've all signed their lives away with that initial contract/waiver they have to sign when they audition.

The songs that were written for them last night were terrible. Songs written for Bo shouldn't be that bubble gum pop style. That sort of music is better suited for Carrie. Bo has a different sound and something with a slightly more rock and roll vibe would have helped.

He's still in my dog pound though. Ugh.
