As you exit onto the greenway at exit 6 towards washington, there is a little patch of land that runs beside the exit ramp. Is that what is going to be "landscaping"? Seems like a lot of work for landscaping.

Exiting the greenway or entering the greenway ?? Inside the Ryan Road 'L' or outside at the bottom ??

In either case, if you look at the map provided you can see what subdivision it is, and who is responsible. I suspect what you're seeing is the Moorefield Station area, and Toll Brothers is going to be building a TH community there called Moorefield Green, they may have started the clearing and infrastructure, as the place is scheduled to open later this year.

    kat -

I know exactly the spot you mean. To clarify... say you are traveling east on Wynridge (if you came from Claiborne), then you make a left at the stop sign at the unnamed road ("Ryan Road extended" perhaps) and then continue to the 4-way stop. If you make a right at this stop, you would be on the "current" Ryan Road, and the property you are talking about would be immediately on your left. If you had gone straight at the 4-way stop, the property would be on your right, so it is kind of wedged in between the current Ryan Road and the exit ramp to head east on the Greenway.

According to the map of Moorefield Station (linked from a previous post) this property is not part of it. If you look at the most northern point on that map (the part shaded in green at the very tip) the land you are talking about is the little notch immediately to the left of it. In fact you can see the current Ryan Road there too (a thin faint line) as it makes the sharp left curve as you are heading north, appraoching the 4-way stop.

Having correctly identified the parcel of land, I wish I could be more help in letting you know what is going there! However, I do know that this is not part of the initial phases of the Moorefield Green development.

    River,

Thank you for describing that with greater detail, than apparantly I am managing to do. You are right, it is NOT part of Moorfield Station and I would be very surprised to see town houses being built right there. But, I guess in due time we will all find out what is being built there.

    Neilz-
I suppose it would be "entering" the greenway TOWARDS WASHINGTON.

In that case, it may be the aformentioned location for the Fire/Rescue station. I had thought it was still in the middle of final design, but they may have been able to start initial ground prep (water - sewer) work.

I can ask at the next HOA meeting what the VM board members know about it.

Great...Thanks! It would be a good location for a fire/rescue squad. And looks to be about the right size lot for such a building.

I was looking at their site recently (http://www.madisonretailgroup.com/main.htm) & looking at the Ryan Corner Center, I don't see Gold's Gym in there anymore. Anyone have new information? I thought one was going to be built by Home Depot.

We shop exclusively at Wegmans and HT's now. HT sends out great coupons and has fair quality produce/meat. Wegmans rocks for everything! As for the others... Shoppers doubles dollar coupons, which saves LOTS of money if you are shopping for shelf stable items (I don't get their meat/produce). Giant is VERY overpriced for the quality, has terrible customer service, is often out of sale items and produce, basics like green peppers!, and their produce is old and not fresh at all, despite the crowds and what should be quick turnover. As for Safeway, we just don't go there because the produce is outrageously overpriced, I dont' like their store set up, and it doesn't carry a lot. Also, it always seems dead in there, so there is a produce turnover concern.

HT has no gluten-free stuff. Neither does Giant. Safeway is limited, Wegman's ROCKS! I only hit Safeway if there's something I need quick. I don't have time to go to lots of stores, so Wegman's is my onestop shop.

Interesting note. My wife has been doing a lot of comparing recently. We have been getting the HT $10 off coupons. She buys our Beer/Wine at HT. She buys all groceries at Wegmans except meat and seafood at Safeway. Interesting to notice what cost more where.

FWIW Wegman's also doubles dollar coupons.
We have pretty much written off Safeway as well except if we need something quick. I see Safeway as a 7-11. Close and convinient but that's about it.
The two biggest things that have switched us to Wegmans are price and service. We were there last Sunday afternoon. Store was crowded (as expected) but they had all 24 check out lanes open. You will never see that at Giant or Safeway! Checkout took all of 5 mins.

We were there Sunday and had a $1.00 coupon doubled.
Maybe a fluke but they definitely doubled it.

I asked my wife about this before I posted before and she said wegmans did not so I will check it out today and post back. Maybe they changed their policy recently.

I hope you are right this would be good news.
