I ate at Hard Times in Herndon yesterday. The waitress we had (who had worked there for 12 years) told us that the owner is looking to open a location in the Sterling/Ashburn location, but it'd be probably a year or so before any decision was made. Their next location will be in Manassas and will open in about 5-6 months.

    Update

Either tomorrow and Saturday is the last day.

The landlord raised the rent extremely high in attempts to drive out the leasees. Their goal is to tear down the mall and build high-rise office buildings or if the market changes, apartment/condos.

Scuttlebutt is that the owner is looking to move to Sterling or Ashburn area but not for at least a year (or longer).

I would love to see a European style bakery with fresh bread, pastries, cakes and specialties that you can't find everywhere. We loved going to the Heidelberg Bakery when I lived in Arlington: http://www.heidelbergbakery.com/

I also would love to see Hard Times Cafe, Trader Joes, better Mexican and Chick fil-a as others have mentioned.

you can get these at Cafe Rumi, near 5 guys! I lived in Germany for 5 years and haven't cakes and pastries that reminded me of there until Rumi. Fantastic- trult different and superior to Panera or any other chain bakeries around here! he even has real italian gelato in flavor like swiss chocolate, mixed berry, pistachio, old world vanilla, butter pecan praline.... yummm...

A park! We spent a great weekend up north and visited several parks located in surrounding communities. One even had a HUGE playground, manmade pond with fountains, ducks, geese, 4 different paved trails, and a building that housed restrooms, vending machines, and lockers. It would be great if one existed in Ashburn.

Continue the park all the way to belmont and you will have an awesome park and push the massive tall buildings to the back of the site as some are telling us they already are but not. And you will have """"" The Broadlands Regional Medical Center In The Park"""""" and a win win for everyone and not sacrificing the peoples home values that live across the street for the selfish many. :)
