I started out in Ashburn Farm in 1988.....where Shoppers Warehouse was a great big field. NO grocery stores then...had to go to Leesburg or Countryside until the Giant in Ashburn Village opened. We have lived in Broadlands since 1998.....I still think Broadlands is one of the most beautiful developments in Ashburn with all the trees and the houses are not as much as cookie cutter as in Ashburn Village or the Farm.

Exactly! Super Fresh wasn't "Super Fresh". No wonder it went out of business...

Lee, I lived in Loudoun county LOOONG before you ever laid eyes on her! And you know what, it was just as good back then, just a different pace of life.

We use to have 3-4 traffic lights in the WHOLE county. It is "YOUR" developments that put most of lights and 4-way stops every tenth of a mile. :D

I am talking west of 28 and we also built and designed a lot of homes in countryside. And you all bought into the dream and are now paying for it figuratively and literally:devil2: Yes I remember when 28 was a two lane road and could drive from 7 to 66 it seemed in a matter of minutes ha ha and the dulles airport was just a sleepy and beautiful airport and flying was romantic and people actually dressed up to fly ha ha ha :pofl:

Good heavens... did you both walk uphill in the snow -- both ways -- to school, also?

    BAREFOOT?

what's missing is a good non-chain pastries and euro style cafe in either the Cafe Opera or Bonefish plaza.

Looks like you are getting your gun club or it is a step closer. :)

Planning Commission gave it approval last night.

Last sentence in this article says they want the sheriffs dept to work something out so they can use it. Nobody is going to deny our sheriffs. ;)

We should all email Trader shows. The Wa Biz Journal just did a survey of which grocery you woudl want in Ashburn and 40% said Trader Shows.

I really miss Trader Joe's. When I lived in Arlington I went there all the time. We do have way too many grocery stores in our area, but Trader Joe's is DIFFERENT.

I'd like to see a Guapo's & Hard Times Cafe in Ashburn.

For good chili, nothing beats Hard Times around the DC area, but as for the Mexican around here, Anita's is good, Guapo's would be better, and Del Rey (YUK).

    On the Hard Times note.

The Herndon location is closing in 2 days!!! They lost or chose not to renew their lease.

They are looking for another location. hmmmmmmm

That's too bad. Every few months or so I'd make the drive out there just for the chili. I might have to go back once more before they close as I don't see me making the drive to the further locations.
