Anyone have their child play in recent years? I believe they used to be Youth Pro Flag and play out at the GWU campus. Trying to find out more about them but have not been able to reach anyone and the website has very little information. Makes me nervous as to their legitimacy when they don't respond to emails :( How many days a week do they practice? How long are practices and games? What days do they play? Is the league well run? Any info. would be helpful. Thanks!

My son played in this league last spring and we were not thrilled with it. This is not an Ashburn only league. It is an Ashburn/Sterling league, with most of the participants living in Sterling. We were the only team in the 6-7 yr old division from Ashburn but, fortunately, we had enough kids sign up that we could field a team and have substitutions. My neighbor coached the 8 yr olds from Ashburn and had 6 six kids total, while the other teams in his division (again, all Sterling) had 10+ kids. We practiced at GWU Friday evenings from 5:30-7:00 and played on Saturday mornings (games lasted about an hour). Most of the games were played at Cascades and Chesterbrook Academy (by the Sterling Target). We played only one game at GWU. We would have done two games there but we showed up one Saturday to find out there was a boy scout event going on using the field. The communication from the league to the coaches & participants was not good. My son loves playing and had an awesome coach so it wasn't totally a wash out. We are playing Athletic Revolution this fall but they didn't field a spring league. We won't be back next spring.

Darn, that is what I was afraid of. Unfortunately, I took a chance and have already signed my son up for this league. It seems that all of the Ashburn teams still need coaches and his league (2/3 division) has two more spots open. How many boys play on the field at a time? This is our first flag football experience. I wonder if I can still request a full refund and still register for Athletic Revolution. The reason I chose this league was they play 2x per week versus only once a week for i9 and Athletic Revolution.

Oh, sorry to hear that. Maybe if they can't get coaches, they will cancel and refund your money. Though I'm not sure if AR is still open. We are supposed to be getting information today about teams. I want to say it was 6 kids playing at a time (Center, QB, RB and 3 on the line). It's hard to know which leagues are good. We have made a couple of mistakes through trial and error. We moved here from Ohio last year and signed my son up for I9 tee ball only to find out later so many good things about Dulles Little League. Anyway, I hope your son has fun playing.
