My holly bushes have this dark coating on the leaves, except for the new growth. It will scrape off, and is almost like a dirt coating. Any ideas??
    Thanks,

I think hollys are susceptible to powdery mildew.

Any recommendations from the garden shop as to how to treat that?

Bayer Advanced Disease Control for Roses, Flowers, & Shrubs. A blue plastic bottle liquid you use with a hose sprayer.

We screwed around with mildew spray on our holly but what fixed in the end was using hollytone. Much happier plant now.
