    Hello,

I am a recent college grad who has been playing guitar for nearly 11 years. I’ve played in both my middle school and high schools guitar programs and even had the honor of being a part of my high schools highest ranked guitar class. I have a vast taste in music and have taught some lessons for a while during my senior year and plan to continue giving lessons. My methods of teaching music are a little less focused on music theory, but give the student a good grasp on certain aspects I find vital in becoming a well-rounded, good guitarist. The way I teach is more through examples in songs and even some scales and/or arpeggios. I essentially break down parts to songs (often ones I have chosen) and use the part to strengthen which ever playing style the songs has more of a focus on. My reason for doing this is that it will keep the students interest thus keeping them more focused and willing to learn similar concepts in a more fun and hands on style. I play electric guitar as my main focus, but also do acoustic as well and even did some classical music in school. My experience in guitar playing is pretty much anywhere between acoustic - metal, the only genres I feel I do not really play are folk, country, and classical.
