Was wondering what software would you recommend to block sites I don't want my kids to go to on the internet? I tried NetNanny and I've tried Norton Family. Both seem so awkward and difficult to manage. I have gone through several times and changed settings but they seem to be very all or nothing. Like, if I block mature content then they can't go to email or Facebook.

Anyone have a good experience with protecting their kids on the internet? Thanks in advance.

You could try K9 Web Protection - http://www1.k9webprotection.com/ - it's free for home use and comes from Blue Coat, who sell Enterprise-grade web filtering. It supports common mobile platforms as well as Windows and Mac. Although blue Coat is a competitor of the company I work for, they have a pretty good solution.

I'm a big fan of Qustodio.. Use it on all of our computers and on the kids mobile devices. If you don't need support for mobile devices, the free version is excellent. http://www.qustodio.com
