I am pretty sure this is the same person that came through our street around 10:15-10:30ish. She rang the doorbell twice and then knocked pretty hard. I didn't answer.

Another alert I received today: (Sorry if this is a duplicate and has already been posted)

Subject: Van soliciting girls in Kirkpatrick Farms...

I just got back from a PTA meeting at Pinebrook Elementary. The Principal,
Dawn Haddock, told us that last Thursday a white van with a blue square and
the number 8 inside the square had been in Kirkpatrick Farms neighborhood
trying to lure girls into the van. The van was driven by two Hispanic
males. Two girls ran into a neighboring house and the woman called the
police. The kids and the neighbor were all able to identify the van, but
the police haven't found it or the drivers, yet. The police have set up
observation sites all around the schools. Parents in that neighborhood are
coordinating to take turns to be AT all bus drop-off times to make sure all
    kids are escorted home safely.

I had her at my house yesterday too. Seemed nice enough but didnt like taking "no" for an answer. She said she was a speech major and doing a class contest to raise money for some charity...or something like that. She said the contest was boys vs girls and she had to "kick the boys ***". After enough "no"s from me, she left.

As for as all this door to door stuff goes...our (my wife and myself) stance is simple....don’t sell us mags or coupon book or anything junk like that. If you want our money....you better be selling something to do with chocolate. Chocolate bars, cookies, chocolate covered popcorn....whatever, as long as chocolate is involved. :)

I know this is an old thread but I think it is important to resurrect it again seeing how people like to post information here about what they are seeing in the community. Donna, Stevens, Erica and myself have been trying to revitalize the Neighborhood Watch (NW) in light of all the recent vandalism around the community. When you see something that is out of the ordinary, not sure what is going on and if it should be, speeding, anything that you feel needs addressed PLEASE call it in to the sheriff's office. That is what they are there for. If it is not an emergency then use the non emergency number 703 777 1021 instead of 911 but by all means call it in. This is what the NW is all about. It is about the people here in the community reporting to someone who can do something ie the sherrif's office. You don't have to show up for meetings (though they are always good information), you don't have to sign up for patrols (though we very much need people who are willing to) all you have to do is report what you see doing your normal activities.
Again PLEASE don't hesitate to call 703 777 1021 or 911 if you see anything that needs addressed.

To add to what Staci mentioned, we have also created a new Neighborhood Watch section on the main page of the forums, under committees. We will be posting inportant information there as well.

    Donna,

Did you get the private message I left for you......just wanted to make sure you caught it as it is of interest to the Neighborhood Watch but not something I thought should be public.

    thanks,

I did and I passed it on to the rest of the Board. My computer crashed and I am having a lot of issues with sending/rec'ing emails. Sorry... Thanks for the info. We have a meeting with the security company tomorrow and I will let you know what we will be doing about this issue and all the others.
