Does anyone know if there is a curfew for private pools in the neighborhood? I don't think I can take a full summer of the screaming kids in the new pool, and our entire street is finding it difficult to even have a conversation on your patio. To make matters worse, it's heated thru November,
so we are getting no privacy in our own backyards anymore. Help??

The Loudoun County Noise Ordinance says 11pm. Exceptions (call anytime), barking dogs, loud music (boom boxes in cars), etc.

I was told by a deputy that, even though the ordinance is 11pm to 7am, if the noise is bothering you at any time, it can be considered a nuisance and action can be taken. The deputy I talked to said that Loudoun County has a section to protect people who may work at night and have to sleep during the day. I may be completely wrong, but he referenced a little ordinance book he had in his pocket. Good luck with your problem-we used to have the same problem in a different neighborhood with a trampoline...

Are you talking about the pool near the Sunoco? If I owned a pool, I would make a point to invite all the neighbors over a few times, in such a way, you might then be able to budge a tad on the noise issue, or at least bring it up with me. But If that is the pool of which you speak, the family seems to really enjoy their privacy by the dense landscaping and fence that is up. Has anyone nicely gone over with say, a bottle of wine, to ask the homeowner to discuss this issue.

I've noticed there's actually two pools right next door to each other....over by the Sunoco.

i'd definitely go over with a little small talk and then mention that it's pretty loud though in the evening whenyou are trying to enjoy some quieter time... i am sure they aren't evenaware of how loud it is- you know how a parent shuts out the kids after awhile...? they truly may not mean to disturb you. if after you speak nicely about it, it continues or escalates, then i'd have to formally complain.

but who knows? you might end up with an invite of your own! ;)
