Curious if anyone else is having issues with RF gas. We started using them near exclusively since they opened for our two vehicles. Both have been gradually getting worse in terms of running and mpg. Our Mazda 3, which was near exclusive to RF gas, ran pretty badly and a few weeks ago stalled twice leaving the house. Took it to the shop and they said it was extreme carbon buildup in the fuel system. They did a complete fuel system clean and its running pegreat now. Thinking the same thing was going on with our van, I've now run several tanks of (Exxon) gas with fuel system cleaner additives and its back to running smooth and the mpgs are up as well.

Could very well be the age of the cars, but wondering if anyone else has seen similar issues with RF gas.

Maybe coincidence, but several weeks back they closed down due to water leaking into their tanks.

Second thought...how many miles on the vehicles? What year? What make?

You ever change fuel filter or air filters?

I had this issue with a relatively new car (less than 2 years old) years ago using Safeway gas. The dealership recommended only using top tier gas to help with carbon build up and other issues associated with fuel quality and higher ethanol content. I have been using Shell exclusively ever since. I see in the article below Costco is also included in the list of top tier retailers

Royal Farms got us. Used them the past few fillups, got the check engine light, and car wouldn't start after fill up. Thought it was alternator since battery was just replaced a few months ago. Eventually started but mechanic says we have a full tank of very bad gas. Getting the same repair done as OP, draining tank, fuel line, and cleaning injectors. Hopefully fixes it. Thought it would be too weird to happen with so many people using that Royal Farms but sure enough here I am doing a Google search for "Royal Farms Bad Gas" and this forum is the first result. Too much a coincidence but won't risk using them again.

What type of gas were you filling? 87? or unleaded 88?

I’ve been using Royal Farms gas since they opened. Regular unleaded. I have had no problems.
