It takes either a two-thirds or three-quarters vote of the membership to change the Declaration. That's of the WHOLE membership, not just of those that bother to vote. Since we can't muster even 10% for our Annual Meeting, I believe it would be a futile effort to attempt it.

Are there any rules for parking a car on the street and not moving it for over a month? There is a really ugly green hatchback that is parked on the street adjacent to our house and is always in the way when we back out of our driveway. I do not know who owns the car - is there a time limit that a car can be parked in one spot?

No. If it's inspected and licensed, it can stay.

These are the pressing issues that we must endure in the Broadlands. Ugly cars that are in our way.

Don't those rude people know they aren't allowed to have an ugly car--or God forbid something other than a BMW--in Broadlands? And by all means, they should have the courtesy to park their car where it doesn't inconvenience someone else. How selfish of them. :)

    Sarcasm .. how quaint !!

FWIW ... there are some streets in Broadlands where a car parked directly across from a driveway will cause problems when backing out of the drive.

Actually...this car was never moved during any of the snow removal. This caused only a portion of the road to be plowed and the snow around it just melted over the weekend. As Neilz pointed out, it is really tight pulling out of our driveway and there is about 40 open spots around our house. This car just sits there. More annoying than anything. Cliff - thank you for your reponse. In prior communities that I have lived in, there was a week limit to have a car parked in one place w/o moving. I just wanted to find out the policy in the broadlands - those 2 huge HOA docs are really cumbersome. I wonder if there is an electronic version available to simplify searching...

Like I said - If I knew who owned the car, I would ask them. Dogwood - I don't mean to call you out here, but this isn't about being pretentious. I came to this forum looking to find information to legitimate question - cliff was nice enough to provide that information. Save your stupid, off the cuff remarks for someone who really cares.

Put a note under the windshield wiper to ask the owner to move it a few feet.

Maybe if it was a nicer, prettier car it wouldn't be such a big deal. But I know what you mean. There are some tight spots here. It is kind of comical though.

Um, you just did call me out. It's like when Ricky Bobby prefaced his comment with, "With all due respect" and thought he could say anything after that. No offense taken, however. And it's Dogood, not Dogwood, although that is a fine tree.

I do apologize. I didn't mean to single you out. It's just the comment about the "ugly green hatchback" reminded me how petty some people are here. The specific mention of the kind of car was purposeful. Anyway, didn't meant to upset you.

And I agree, Just stick a note under the windshield wiper and see if you can find whose car it is. That can be a pain. Good luck.
