    Hi Moms,
I have been going to a great fitness class that I wanted to tell you all about. It is called Mommy Boot Camp and the class are held at the Dulles Sportsplex everyday. It is the best workout I have ever had and I do not have to worry about putting my kids in the nursery or paying for a sitter. The class I attend goes from 10-11 but they are starting 6am classes for women (no babies) in Ashburn Village. I was hoping to get enough Broadlands moms to convince them to start a class in our neighborhood. The instructor said they would be interested in having a Broadlands class, so let me know. The outdoor class (called Outdoor Extreme) is an 8 week program unlike the Dulles class that is on-going. They have great (mommy-affordable) prices too! Let's get a Broadlands class started!

I'm interested, what would be the days and times in Broadlands?

I know the exact class you are talking about! I went frequently, before my second daughter was born, but have a hard time making the time w/ school schedules. I had just heard that Kathy was starting the morning bootcamp so I would definately be interested! Did she say if she could start in May like the Ashburn Village class? I'm looking to start in the May timeframe.

I'm interested depending on the time. What's the workout like? Do you mean you take your child with you?

This is a fabulous class. I've been going for 2 years. Yes, you bring your child and they watch the class from their stroller. It's a combination of strength training, aerobics, and cardio moves. I'm a little surprised that Kathy (owner) is considering a Broadlands class, as she is just starting the early morning class at the sportsplex and another class out in Manassas.

Honestly, I love the Dulles sportsplex location. It is a huge indoor gym and at the end of the 50 minute class, the toddlers get out of their strollers and run around the gym while we do core work. My daughter loves it.

But I'd definitely consider coming to a Broadlands location, if it happened!

What kid would sit in their stroller for 50 minutes though??? Seriously, how could you get in a good workout with your kid staring at you for that long? Sounds like a great idea, but I'd rather leave the kids at home.

The "proposed" class in Broadlands from the original thread is a bootcamp in the early AM for moms only without the kids. This is different from the class taught at the Sportsplex (with the kids). And to respond to Luftinar, definately depends on the age of your child. You're constantly moving the stroller around, running laps and moving stations, but the older they get, the less interested they are in being in the stroller. I've seen some of the older kids (and by older I mean preschool age) playing with toys/books on the sideline.

Okay....so you're actually using the stroller as part of your workout routine. It sounded like the strollers are lined up on the sidelines and the kids sit and watch. That makes much more sense now.

I spoke with Jen (one of the trainers) and she said they are only starting the Ashburn Village class in May but not to rule out a Broadlands location. They have had lots of interest and hope to start more classes soon. I am going to sign up for it anyways and she said if they add our class in June that I can just transfer my membership. It is being taught by Jenn and Kathy and they are both really tough! So we will see if I can get back in my "skinny shorts" by summer!

I would be interested too if it was in Broadlands, I rather not drive all the way to Sterling just to work out. If it was in this area at an early time I could leave the kids at home with my husband I would do it.

If it were in Broadlands and early in the morning, I would definitely be interested! That's the only time I would be able to work out.

Mommy Bootcamp is starting here in Broadlands June 5th on Sundays at 4:00 for a 6 week session. Kathy is only charging $48 for 6 weeks. She will give us punch passes so if we miss a week, we can make up a class at one of her other class times. We have a small group doing this and we still have a couple spots open. We are trying to keep this small and we have about 12 now and won't go above 15. We did this last spring and it was great. We didn't bring our little ones but some of us did bring our older kids to play at the playground while we worked out. We meet at Hillside Elem. basketball courts.
