I have consistently been getting 2.7 MB download speeds for the past two weeks. No complaints here.

Ever since the outage my speeds have been horrid.

Your download speed : 157912 bps, or 154 kbps.

Your upload speed is much faster than down.. have you tweaked?

Edit:: Seems that a reset of my cable modem fixed it, at least somewhat.

I'm on hold for Adelphia tech support listening to their muzak and oh-so-helpful technical suggestions. I've been waiting a fairly long time. If I get any information, I'll post it here.

UPDATE: I spoke to tech support. The woman I talked to said that there were quite a few servers in the area having difficulties. She said that the server I was on was not one of the ones that was listed. :D

I unplugged my modem, and it took nearly 5 minutes to synch. I'm finally connected, and the speed is better although not nearly as good as should be or was a week or so ago.

I had that same problem last night... downloads were making out at ~65k/s... rebooted the SB4100 and went back to 6Mbit!

A reboot yesterday didn't help me. However, today it seems to have improved after another reboot. Still not where it used to be but it's much better than it was.

Connectivity is a bit flaky tonight -- I lose connection, and then it's fine 5 minutes later. Can't complain about the speed tonight, though.

    click START to begin
    Preparing Speedtest . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Done
    running 10s outbound test (upload) . . . . . 874.07Kb/s
    running 10s inbound test (download) . . . . . . 671.14kb/s

Your speed is 12.20 times faster than 56Kb dialup

    And I have premium service.....:D

Im still all over the place too, after SB4100 reboot - so no changes as of yet. If history repeats itself we will be like this for 2-3 months easy before they get the equipment to fix the problem.

Well, I'm having troubles again. I lost connection. While I waited on hold, I unplugged the modem. I don't have any update because tech support was downright rude, and I refused to listen to his snarky comments. It took a while for the modem to synch, but my connection is good now.

For the past week or so, I've been losing connection 5 or 6 times per night. Most times, it cures itself in 10 minutes, but at least once per night I have to reset the modem. Not a trend I'm happy to see.

Anyone else finding the service to be flaky at times?

I haven't seen the lost sync this week but speeds are still all over the map. It would be interesting to see more people post their speed tests (good and bad) on DSLReports. It seems people only like to post their high water mark for speed.

I used to have the same problem of always losing sync.

At first I thought it was Adelphia, but when I asked some of my neighbors none of them were having problems.

The problem ended up being a cheap splitter that I was using. Try removing any splitters and tightening all your coax connections.

Once I tightened the connections and removed the cheap splitter, the sync would stay up fine.

    Good luck

Here is what "Premiere" service gets you:

    2005-04-03 22:19:55 EST: 3367 / 833
Your download speed : 3448260 bps, or 3367 kbps.
    A 420.9 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 853485 bps, or 833 kbps.

Its so much better than the regular service....oh wait, its the same as the regular service. I love paying for more and getting nothing for it....[xx(]
