I have a rising 4th grader and wondering if any teachers offer after school tutoring? Mainly for reading and math.

The main office will have a list of teachers that offer tutoring after school (in the school) and the subjects they're offering after the school year starts. They need a chance to update their list with the new teachers/subjects/schedules.

Wow, that's fantastic that the school maintains a list. Any idea what the rates are per hour?

My name is Monique Barber. I am a national board certified teacher and I taught 4th grade for 13 years until my 5 month old was born in February. I am now putting my skills to use tutoring from my house off Summerhouse Place. I charge $50 an hour. If interested you can reach me at mbarber714@gmail.com.

Two years ago it was $25 for 30 minutes. Also, I can absolutely vouch for the poster above (Ms. Barber). After our son's after-school teacher tutor did not return to school the following year, we sought another tutoring option and turned to Ms. Barber. She made great strides with our son in Math (and she threw in some social studies discussions as well). Going through the school or through Ms. Barber are GREAT options. Neither one will let you down.
