    Still bad

    Packets: Sent = 31, Received = 24, Lost = 7 (22% loss),
    Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 8ms, Maximum = 21ms, Average = 10ms

    At 1722 today, I did a 50 packet ping to www.yahoo.com and got these results:

    Ping statistics for 216.109.117.204:
    Packets: Sent = 50, Received = 45, Lost = 5 (10% loss),
    Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 8ms, Maximum = 16ms, Average = 9ms

    We're still having intermittent packet loss. I ran the speed tests located at http://wdc.speakeasy.net and hit the Washington DC node. Got the following results:

    3872kbps download, 3kbps upload (yes, that's *3*)

    From what I'm seeing, most of our issues stem from the extremely bad upload speeds we're having. The upload issue could also cause some of the packet loss we're seeing.

    All in all, the download speed is slower than normal for me as of right now. Upload speeds are a joke.

    Has anyone gotten any info from Adelphia tech support?

    Oh, and btw; don't try to get into a round of Battlefield 2 online in order to determine how your connection is doing... It wasn't pretty :)

    I'm seeing okay download speeds, but uploads are still rotten (I can't say how bad since my latest speed test has been running for 17 minutes).

    I called Tech Support this morning, and I was told that the incident had been downgraded to minor. The support guy told that meant it would be closed soon. He couldn't be more specific about when "soon" might be, though. He acknowledged it was a problem with uploads, but provided no further details.

    I just called Adelphia, (888)683-1000, and tech support told me they could not see anything that would be causing problems in our area (oh what a surprise). I'm not getting any upload issues but download speeds are erratic.

    This won't help you guys, but my ping results to yahoo.com are:

    Approximate round trip loss in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 9ms, Maximum = 94ms, Average = 13ms

    I just spoke to Tech Support again. The CSR acknowledged the outage, but she had no new information on cause or the ETA of the fix.

    It seems better than last night, but it's still really awful at times. I haven't been able to finish the upload portion of a speedtest. I started one at 8:00pm, and it's still running. I have been "surfing" since then so it wouldn't be too accurate, but I couldn't wait any longer.

    Ugh. Tried 3 times just to post a reply. Died every time.

    For those without issues, what IP are you all on?

    I'm on 68.235.171.**.

    Still hosed here also, 12-20% packet loss. Impossible to game over :(.

    Just finished a speedtest. Took about 15 minutes. Pathetic. Truly pathetic.

    Last Result:
    Download Speed: 2537 kbps (317.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
    Upload Speed: 1 kbps (0.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

    My IP address is in the 70.36.61.* range.

    Hornerjo, I'm on the 68.232.137.x subnet and seeing the same thing as you. Being that we live so close to each other, I wouldn't expect different results, since we're on the same 'tap'...

    It's 11:53pm and at this point, I can no longer successfully run a speed test. My download speeds have degraded tremendously and my upload is quasi-non-existant now. The speedtest page hangs on me each time now...

    So much for my late night of online gaming...

    FWIW, I haven't been seeing any problems the last few days. Last week was another story.

    I'm hanging off 67.20.47.x

    Upload Speed: 77 kbps (9.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

    Just had a chat with what I believe to be an Adelphia tech on another online forum. When I indicated to him/her what we were being told by Adelphia, "it's an issue with uploads and we have it logged as being MINOR", he quickly replied back with the following statement:

    "You were given wrong information. The severity equates to the number of customers the issue affects. Don't ask for the figuresd because I won't tell you.

    The severity has nothing to do with its status."

    So, hopefully, the fact it's being flagged as Minor doesn't mean they aren't working on it... I'm awaiting a reply from him/her on some more specific questions; I'll post what I get here...

    UPDATE: I just got the typical answer you would expect from the Adelphia Tech I was chatting with regarding the issue:

    "If you were told there was a ticket then that ticket will be worked till resolution."

    I bet they have a lawyer sitting next to each Adelphia Tech 'sanitizing' their answers ;)

    Here is what I did after they did not resolve my problems that kept repeating over two years both with the both the internet and and cable. over two years I was having sparatic slow internet and finally they could not get video on demand working after it was working perfectly during the test period. All they did was nice me to death and send idiots out to the hosue that resolved nothing one even tried to sell me a power booster not through adelphia but from him personally. Anyway I filed a lawsuit in small claims and went to their office on red rum and personally delivered my lawsuit. Within two days all issues were resolved without sending anyone to my house.

    I was well documented and prepared to go to court and they knew it.

    With what I am seeing here it looks like drastic action my be required as it looks like the problems keep coming back or never have been resolved successfully or just temporally.

    It is a shame the last many years we are being niced to death by corporations without ever really many times solving the problem. Personally I would rather have *** hole that knows what he is doing then a nice idiot that will never resolve the problem because he does not know or trained well enough to solve the problem. My internet and cable has not had a problem since.

    I will add my lawyer brother showed me that small claims can be very effective and inexpensive when used properly. Further the key to winning is being well documented many lawyers sadly do not do enough homework and you can out do them if your are well prepared.
    I was involved in a multi million dollar lawsuit and we destroyed 5 lawyers and two were from a worldwide law firm with endless resources and a client with deep pockets. I had a folksy lawyer that was throughly prepared and had me do a lot of research and documentation as well including a Private detective. They also had a lot more paper as they call it except it was all crap to impress their client and try to win by papering us to death. In the end the very smart judge gave us a factual decision orally in my favor which took him over an hour and a half in court. That is somewhat a very rare type of decision and very difficult to appeal which they did not. I know there are lawyers on this board but I think the problems you all are having here might need to go to the next level to be resolved completely and hopefully quickly. I doubt Adelphia will want this to go to court and have more negative publicity in their change over.
