Arbitration with Van Mete or roofing problems?

So VM majorly screwed up and never finished a section of roof. We finally saw leaks coming in to our bedroom ceiling. Turns out under the eaves - there was a section of roof you could stick your fist through. Our roofer also saw that the majority of our shingles were improperly installed and bet the shingle company would not warranty them. He basically told us that our 25 year roof would be reduced to 15 years.

So we go to VM and try to work this out. Nope. They want to nail down some of the shingles, won't reimburse us when we had our roof fixed from their screw up and we are forced into arbitration. Anyone have to deal with VM by taking them to arbitration or court? Anyone have major roofing issues with VM?

 

we had a similar issue with our roof last spring and went through our insurance company USAA. I believe they worked with our home warranty company etc.
