Ocean City Maryland is probably the closest. About 3 1/2 hours...10 with traffic

Several. Any of the MD/DEL beaches can be reached in three hours. Depends what you are looking for.

I hear Sandy Point Park is a great place for a swim right now, too.:fever:

My family goes every summer to Ocean City and it normally takes about 4 hours every now and then we get there in 3 1/2 and somtimes 5 (potty breaks with little ones take a lot of time). Another beach we really like is Rehobeth about the same driving distance and same stuff to do but not as expensive.

If you are going with a family those are the 2 I would recomend

Initially we had planned for sandy point beach. But beach is off limits this weekend due to unaaceptable bacteria levels:(

We are looking for one day trip.

    Thanks,

    Julie

Virginia Beach is about a four hour drive with normal traffic, but like with OC can get bogged down quickly with traffic volume on the weekend travel dates. You also have three major metropolitan areas to travel through/around to get there so best time to leave would probably be between 9 and 11 AM.
