Around 7:45am this morning, I was driving on the toll road heading East. Right around exit 6 (Ryan Road), there was a police car (lights on), another car and a tow truck and what appeared to be a dead bear on the shoulder. Did anyone else see or hear about this? Just curious if there are bears in our neighborhood!

I saw that too. I know there are some bears that have been spotted in Ashburn before.

They're usually found hanging out around Clyde's.

On a slightly different note, I was talking to an Animal Control Officer recently and I asked her what the most exciting thing that had happened that day was. She said they removed a couple of coyotes from a yard in Ashburn - don't remember where. They were hanging out in a backyard. Apparently they're becoming a problem in neighborhoods and not just in rural areas around here. And from what she described, the coyotes are pretty smart (now I wouldn't say book smart) but they can now recognize a uniform vs. plain clothes folks and react differently depending.

Yes, we had a coyote (4-legged) roaming our area near Hillside. They're interesting and adaptable creatures and unfortunately, reviled by many in the farming and hunting community.
