    Sorry to dig up an old thread, but the newer kernels have compensated for the Nvidia ACPI bug, you just need to append acpi_use_timer_override to your kernel boot options.

    Yea, I read about that; looks like it works on the 2.6.22 kernel, but there are some people having issues using this under the 2.6.23 kernel.

    Still looks a lot more promising though.
