Just heard a horrible crash. Called 911. Anyone know what happened? I heard the car roll almost 10 times. I thought it was coming into my house.

We heard it too! We have a newer teen driver who was due home around the time we heard the noise, so we immediately and anxiously went to see what happened. Our daughter pulled in to the driveway as we were heading out, thank goodness.

It was a single car, smaller SUV that appeared to have lost control as they were coming around the curve on the way down the hill, directly behind the Awbrey cul-de-sac. Car def appeared to have rolled and landed on the right shoulder. There was one passenger in the car, a younger woman. She initially got out of the car on her own, and was upright and mobile. EMT put her on a backboard with neck brace and took her to the hospital.

I’ve been picturing the horrible scene and thinking about the drive since Friday night. Hoping she is okay.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like she is ok if she was walking. Glad to hear that. I hear a lot of cars and motorcycles speeding on Truro. I knew it was just a matter of time.

    Be careful out there people.

So glad girl is okay and her parents still have her in their lives. Hope they are able to repair the car if it’s not totaled because newer cars are very expensive nowadays although her insurance may skyrocket as a result.

Truro and Broadlands Blvd are some good prime areas where people typically speed down on from Belmont Ridge as it’s pretty much downhill there-

Looking at page three of the LCSO Daily Incident Report, it appears either Jack Daniels or Sam Adams was driving the vehicle.

“DWI/Crash: Deputies responded to a location for a report of a single vehicle crash. Upon investigation, the driver of the vehicle was found to be under the influence.”

I saw the impressive debris field with lots of glass and assorted plastic Kia parts. Who is on the hook to clean it up before the lawn mowers damage their equipment and/or blow it all back into the street?

Not surprised- I am a regular at a bar and I drink a coke/water; if I have alcohol, 1 beer is enough for me. Some people have no business driving if they drink as I’ve seen way too many folks drinking MORE than they should and they get into the car to go home - many say they live close by but no matter if they live “close by”, they should get an Uber to avoid potential DWI charges! Had a friend in mid-80s get busted with DWI charges and his car insurance skyrocketed along with hefty lawyer fees and court fines- needlessly to say, he dropped out of college for time being to pay off the debts and after he cleared his debt, went back to finish his education — from that point on, he was very conscious of his drinking- he drank no more than 1-2 drinks as he was scared to get busted again. Back then, newspaper in Fairfax published a list of names of DWI offenders and that’s quite embarrassing and shamed them. He was so scared that his employer at the time would find out and fire him - Lesson learned.

Hence, this drunk driver probably gonna be in a world of financial pain for some time!
