You can do it yourself by buying a dryer vent cleaning kit yourself which Zibdid and it was a snap! I used a drill at the lowest setting and attached it to the kit....took only 15 mins and saved TONS of money....best of all, you can do it every 6 months and you keep saving money....cheaper in the long haul. Up to you....

Another way of doing this is to use your leaf blower. Just disconnect from the dryer and point the blower into it. Just use some netting outside to catch the lint from getting everywhere.

It's also a good idea to pull the back off the dryer and clean out the entire lint trap. It's usually held on with just a few screws. I just did mine and it was the real fire hazard. Thing was filled with dirt and lint.

We've used a few different ones in the past. There was one that we liked, but they changed ownership and were never the same. Our dryer is on the second floor, so cleaning it ourselves is not an option since the tubing curves through the attic. Currently, we've been very pleased with SweepMasters. We've used them for the last 3 years and they seem to be consistent. If interested, their number is 703.670.6733.
