To the parent of a young elementary aged kid with an orange helmet-

Your kid was riding his bicycle (ALONE) in the MIDDLE of Ridgeway Drive and a vehicle was speeding down from up the hill on Ridgeway Drive- the kid was not paying attention so I yelled at him to look out for the van coming down behind him.

This is very DANGEROUS letting a 7-9 yr old ride in the MIDDLE of the road on Ridgeway when so many cars are out driving up and down the road. Drivers often are going faster than 25 mph on this road. You need to have a discussion with your kid to ensure that he stays closer to the curb -- so many drivers text and drive and often do not see someone in the middle of the road - Would hate to see him get hit or injured trying to get off the road. If I see him again in the middle of the road alone, the county police will be contacted out of concern for his safety.

Drivers- please slow down on Ridgeway as I often see kids shoot out onto the road from a driveway or side road. The weather is getting warmer now -- so be on the lookout for young kids since they often do NOT look both ways before going out on the main road.
