Been using Broadlands Family Practice for many years now with mixed results. I think Dr. Cohn (our primary) is a very good doctor but I am thinking of switching to the female one there (Dr. Wilder), or even to another practice for my next physical. Does anyone have experience with Dr. Wilder?

Primarily looking for someone that can give you more than a few minutes, continuity of care and will be interested in my well and sick care, can provide holistic as well as medical options and advice, easy to get a same day sick appointment, doesn't take 3 months to get a physical appointment, and takes United Healthcare. And definitely something in Ashburn close to Broadlands/Brambleton area.

    Thanks for any recommendations!!

My family has gone to Leesburg-Sterling Family Practice since 1980 & I can't say enough good things about them. They have offices in Broadlands, Lansdowne, Leesburg and Purcellville. (I don't know if they take United Healthcare, but they would satisfy all of your other criteria.)

The Leesburg practice is now the Integrative Family Medicine Center.

You can PM me if you have any questions or want to know more.

I was thinking of trying Leesburg-Sterling Family Practice after giving up on Broadlands Family Practice because I could never get to see a doctor, just the nurses.

I ended up going with NOVA Medical Group instead. Hit and miss there, tried Dr Noelle who is a great listener, but I find the care very rudimentary. Yes, I know it's primary care, but I expect more. Sometime I get more answers on the web. Tried another Doc at the same practice and she spent 90% of the consultation typing on her computer (was she Googling my symptoms I wondered?).

Interested to hear any other opinions of Leesburg-Sterling Family Practice also!

When we moved here 6+ years ago, we selected Broadlands Family Practice for our family of four. I preferred to see Dr. Wilder, but once BFP began expanding, we noticed our time spent with doctors was reduced, and sadly, every single specialist referral resulted in complete dead-ends (and we were sure to advise our physicians of our unfortunate experience). Within a year, we moved our children to a pediatric practice, and my husband began seeing Dr. Noelle at INOVA-Ashburn.

I recently joined my husband's practice and think Dr. Hardison is fantastic! He is one of the few doctors I've met who truly respects his patients' effort in explaining details of health related problems, which I too often find to be quite the opposite in many cases, resulting in misdiagnosis and wasted money. He is a great listener, asks the appropriate questions, and has commendable communication skills overall.

INOVA participates with United Healthcare (our insurance, as well), and also doubles as an Urgent Care facility - a plus for many families, including ours.

I hope you find a doctor/practice suitable for your needs. Best of luck!

I too am currently at BFP and looking for a doctor. I used to see Dr. Wilder, but after two misdiagnosis and difficulty getting an appt. I switched to Dr. Mary Renard. Initially thought she was genuinely concerned about my health... Then realized that was a "annual physical" appointment....that's why she spent longer than 5 minutes in the room. Let me know if you find someone great!

BzyCookn - you mean NOVA Medical Group, not INOVA I think? Dr Noelle practices at NOVA Med Grp.

I'll give Dr Hardison there a go, he's new I believe.

I take my young sons to see Dr Poonawala at Leesburg Sterling Family Practice. I went to the Leesburg office back in the 80s/90s so I was excited to see this practice open in Broadlands. Dr. P has been great with my sons. He takes a lot of time, even for smaller issues, and just generally seems to care for their well-being. I saw him in a store once with his son and he took some extra time to talk with us, ask about the boys. When I finally need to see a PCP in this area, I won't hesitate to use him too! Oh, and his nurse is really friendly also!

We are currently with BFP. We like Dr.Simmons-Wyllie so much. She is very good and a good listener. I think she works only at Brambleton location.
