I would like to hear feedback from anyone who is currently using (or has used in the recent past) Comcast phone service. Happy with it, annoyed with it, outages, service quirks, what you wish you had known before signing up, etc.

    thanks in advance.

We recently added Comcast Phone Service to our TV and Internet service. We've been holding off doing this for various reasons, but finally decided to add it. I wanted to make sure we could keep our phone number that we've had since moving to Ashburn in 1988 and we could. I have to say - having this service added was seamless and not frustrating at all. When I called Comcast, the customer service rep was very thorough and professional and knew exactly what she was doing. They contact Verizon to discontinue our service and we got our appt. set up for the technician to come and get it all set up. It didn't take very long and honestly, I don't notice one bit of difference in the phone service, not one. No outages or anything. Of course we've only had it for a month. What is nice is having Caller ID appear on your TV screen as well. So - right now - we are very happy we finally made the switch and we're saving money as well. The only regret? I wish we had done it sooner!!!

We've had it since we moved to Ashburn in 2008. No complaints.

    Thanks for the replies!

So Comcast has been as reliable as the plain-old-telephone-system? good to hear.

I assume that they have to install a box between the cable and the existing phone wiring inside the house? how big is this box?

We tried Comcast and requested an unlisted number. They gave us a listed number and we got tons of telemarketing...

We had Comcast for a few years before FiOs came in. NOTHING but TROUBLE and unreliable service. I'd advice against ALL Comcast packages. It took me THREE HOURS one time to talk to someone who knew what they were talking about when we had problems with our phone AND internet service. Glad we switched over, haven't had one problem with FiOs yet.
