Hello! I am a music student a JMU and I live in the area. I'm selling a few of my old flutes to make up for buying a newer one and figured I would see if anyone in the neighborhood was interesting in giving one of them a new home! I have two flutes and an empty flute case that I am interested in selling. If you are interested at all in any of the items, shoot me an e-mail and we will talk! barnesca@jmu.edu

    Flute #1
    Selmer USA Model
This flute is nickel, closed hole, has off-set g keys and a c-foot attachment. It is a beginner's flute and plays very well for a beginning instrument! There is some discoloration from where my hands have worn off the finish, but this doesn't affect the sound at all. It comes in a plastic case that latches and has blue velvety stuff on the inside. It also comes with a tuning rod/cleaning rod. It's in great shape besides the discoloration! I played it from the time I started until I entered high school (2-3 years). It's very affordable for someone thinking of starting to play as a hobby or someone looking for an instrument for their son/daughter who might be starting out for middle school band.

    Flute #2
This flute is more for serious (but you don't have to be that serious) players. It's a Gemeinhardt Professional model. It is solid silver with a gold plated lip plate. It is open-holed, has a b-foot joint and has inline g keys. I was the first owner of this flute and only had it for about 2 years - it got me into the flute studio at JMU! It's in very good shape. The case it comes in is a plastic case with latches, the inside is a burgundy velvety material. On the outside, there is a leather case that goes around the plastic one and has a zipper all the way around. After a week or so from posting this thread, I'll be sending this flute to thefluteexchange.com to get it sold unless someone tells me they are interested.

    Flute Case
This is a Pro Tec International case. It zips open to the red velvety part and has space for a flute that either has a c-foot joint or a b-foot joint. The handles are very sturdy and it has a zippered pocket big enough for any cleaning supplies or even a piccolo case. It used to have a shoulder strap, but I lost that.

Also, if anyone is interested, I am in town until mid-August and have plenty of time to give lessons to anyone in the beginner-early intermediate levels! (There's a post in the "Jobs and Help Wanted" section with more details and a list of instruments I can play!).

    Thanks a lot! :-D

I may be interested in the flutes and am interested in classes for my soon- to- be 6th grader. Can you give me more info?
