The house is approaching 16 years old and our front/rear doors are needing some repair work. I'm looking for a good contractor to do this as I've not been happy with the people we've used in the past.

We also have a number of windows that are in need of repair/replacement. Hoping someone out there has had some good experiences.

    Thanks

We used Tri-County Windows and Siding to replace our front windows and a few years ago after shopping them against several other local companies. Great price, great experience. The owner is very knowledgeable, straight-forward, and honest.

Whatever you do don't give Thompson Windows your name - their sales practices are very high pressure, designed to close at the first meeting. They refused to schedule a visit so I could get a quote because my wife wouldn't be there for the meeting. When I refused to meet their demand that she be present, they lied and said they legally couldn't issue a quote since her name was on the deed with mine. On the flip side, I've heard their prices are fair and their windows are decent.

My experience: their windows were good but outrageously expensive.

On The Level Contractors, https://onthelevelcontractor.com/doors-windows/, installed a top of the line Anderson storm door I purchased at Home Depot. The installer's level of detail and precision surpassed my expectations.

The previous mounting was too far out leaving a gap at the sill where air could enter - this was due to builder error (lack of an inset on the door frame) so they had to build a new one to install the door correctly. Once that was done they had to shim where the trim meets the hinges and also added additional fasteners for the weight. They completed the install with caulk and molding, (which I didn't expect.) They cleaned up all the debris and even wiped the exterior of the front door. The finish was flawless.

I tried Tri-County and they have a 5 window minimum. I only need 1 replaced but would do the one next to it for aesthetics.
