The offical on stop shop website for all of HHS - for whom I work - is www.flu.gov. You should go there.

I definitely agree... again, if you want a second opinion, please seek one. There are some great places here in Ashburn. I mentioned Broadlands Family Practice, but there are others. Good luck!

My almost 2 1/2 year old son was diagnosed with H1N1 on Monday. He developed a sort of wet cough Sunday night, but he was otherwise acting fine, even Monday morning. He had a little bit of a runny nose that got worse over the morning, then he developed a fever, and he went quickly downhill in a matter of hours-- flushed, lethargic, mouth breathing, glazed eyes. We took him to Penguin Pediatrics, where he was swabbed for influenza and tested positive. He's had the seasonal flu vaccine, so they just assumed that it was H1N1.

He was prescribed Tamiflu, which I got in liquid form from the Leesburg pharmacy. It's supposed to be cherry-flavored, and he's not objecting a lot to taking it. I'm pregnant, but I had gotten the H1N1 vaccine at my OB about 10-12 days before my son came down with it. It's still possible that I'll get sick, but hopefully it'd be a milder form if I do. We're still waiting to see if my husband catches it.

It's good to read that other people noticed behavioral/attitude changes with Tamiflu. The only side effect I'd read about was diarrhea, and yeah, my son got that. Other than for a few hours on Monday, his energy level hasn't changed much from what it usually is (high). He has been more difficult, less cooperative, etc., but I figured that it was just because he was stir-crazy and bored.
