Looks like HLS has settled into a consistant routine.

They need to start using a grass catcher for the residential lawns, here are pics of their recent job, not a professional execution of their task.

    Judge for yourself.

Re: Neglected in Southern Walk - Unruly Grass

What was the amount of time between when this grass was cut and when those pictures were taken? Maybe they're 2 separate processes? Are these pictures an accurate representation of all residences on this street, or was this particular residence 'missed' by mistake?

Grass cut by HLS @ 8AM on 6/9, Camera date/time stamp of pic 3:58PM 6/9. 8 hours, I swept most of it up, last night's storm did the rest.

    Yes, but not 8 hours

Only one side of the street has a sidewalk, neighboring homes also had this issue. As for if the pictures are accurate, come on pictures show the proof.

You and other HOA members know our property, the cut grass in the mulch & landscaping is only caused by HLS who refuses to use a catcher on residential lawns and is an ongoing issue.

I've emailed Wes several times, my wife has talked to Cliff and the response is for US to call HLS. The HOA has the contract with HLS not the Courtyard homeowners.

qzpmal, I was asking if it was an accurate representation of all the residences on your street, not just your own. Nowhere did I state that your pictures were not accurate.

I was trying to determine if this was only an issue with your property, or a bigger issue. Sounds like it's a bigger issue...

Untrue. That has NEVER been my response. I instruct homeowners to contact the HOA Office with their concerns.
In fact, when your wife told me she has called HLS, I told her to call the HOA Office.
This is the most efficient way for us to track issues.

Linux, I've got a short fuse lately...wife on bed rest, toddler running amuck and trying to do actual work at the same time. My bad I just assumed it was a case of "this" homeowner exaggerating about HLS lawn service.

Re: Neglected in Southern Walk - Unruly Grass

I misspoke and misswrote: You did say contact the HOA. So, I did send the HOA an e-mail on 4/28 regarding some other HLS issues. The e-mail was sent to you, Wes, and Maureen.

I only received a response from you on 4/29 saying that you are certain you (collective) could find out the answers to my questions.

I did not hear back from anyone else, and have not received a response since your first ones on 4/29.

We had a pretty decent conversation some time later regarding the dilapitation over the years of a particular segment of the common area behind our house. We also discussed how much junk (tree ties, tree posts, ect.) were tossed back there.

Last weekend, I at least pulled this stuff out and put in a neat pile for HLS to pickup. Today they mowed and weedwacked right past it and left it there.

So, what is my course of action now?

HOA won't do anything, HLS won't do anything.

Re: Neglected in Southern Walk - Unruly Grass

Cliff - we followed the procedures, we contacted the HOA office via email & telephone concerning HLS's mowing of the Courtyard homes & the common area adjacent to our property. A HOA staff member told me to call HLS. The HOA has yet to respond to the questions posed in our emails (except you).

We have pictures of what the common area looked like when HLS mowed it and we will provide recent photos of what this area looks like now. The recent photos will prove HLS has dumped tree wraps, landscaping lining etc and continues to not mow or weed whack the area and it has become putrid stagnant swap of tall grass.

Net-Net we DID contact the HOA, nothing was done. What are we suppose to do now?

My solution is we will hire another landscaping company to mow & weedwhack the common area and for the courtyard homes that same company can aerate & reseed as HLS did not do provide this service (on our street) last fall and then we will send the HOA the bill. My mind problem solved.

Re: Neglected in Southern Walk - Unruly Grass

As I requested, please provide me copies with all your unanswered contacts to the HOA.

As I told you, we do not have HLS mow swampy drainage ditches. You can address that issue to the HOA Board, if you'd like. Secondly, I asked you to contact the HOA regarding the removal of the debris. Please provide me evidence that you forwarded this request and that it, too, went unanswered.

Please provide evidence that your entire street was not airated or seeded by HLS. If so, this is an issue. I can assume that we have heard from all your fellow residents, correct? Have you contacted the HOA to look into this?

Refrain from doing personal work in the HOA Common Area without permission, or you can then deal with that issue.

Have you considered that just because things aren't the way YOU want them doesn't mean that the HOA/HLS is not doing it's job?

And I'm sure your solutions will solve the problem in your mind.

I just got a call from Wes that he drove up and down Sunstone and didn't see anything. Is the grass still there and did he miss it?

I found your email. I will find out why you did not receive a response.

Re: Neglected in Southern Walk - Unruly Grass

You have the copy of last month's email. I am searching for the ones sent last year.

How do you propose I send you evidence of phone calls to the HOA?
And as I told you the area WAS NOT A SWAMP, it became on when HLS stopped mowing it last year and became a swamp. I brought this to the HOA's attention during a June 06 meeting.

How do you propose I provide evidence of the call I made to the HOA?

This is such an expected and arrogant remark coming from the President of the HOA. You can assume what you want, as you seem to assume that homeowners are making crap up. I called Wes & emailed him about the aeration issue and guess what - ZERO ZILCH follow up. He gave me the dates HLS allegedly did the work and I told him that our street was NOT aerated.

Have HLS do their job. I didn't realize I needed permission to weed whack, do general clean up in common areas or put in a trench drain along my property line.

Have you realized that you act/ and treat homeowners that bring up issues in a more than abrasive manner.

Next time you decided to just drop by our house again, bring your own damn beer. You sure liked drinking ours while we talked about the common area issues in a civil manner, unlike the direction you took on this forum.

Re: Neglected in Southern Walk - Unruly Grass

Cliff - when I am off of bed rest, I will be happy to collect house #'s and homeowner signature on our street, of the lawns HLS did not aerate last fall.

I will then formally present this to the HOA BoD as per your request of evidence that this service was not performed by HLS.

As I stated, I contact Wes via telephone about this matter, he only provided the dates of said service and said he would look into it. But again the aeration & seeding on our street did not occur, even after my call to the HOA.

Re: Neglected in Southern Walk - Unruly Grass

I assume yesterday's high winds and massive down pours washed grass clippings on the sideway & driveways away, but honestly I don't know as I am on bed rest.

Prior to the storms, my husband swept up the majority of the clippings and placed them into a lawn refuse bag, however they still remain in our mulch beds.

I would like to know why the forum moderators have not yet closed this thread and asked this discussion to go off-line? Whereas, less debated or heated discussions are shut down right away.

Simply have all the affected homeowners call the office. If an entire street is missed, we need to know about it.

Re: Neglected in Southern Walk - Unruly Grass

Boy, talk about the pot calling the kettle black. You like to dish it out but sure can't take it. I refer to your other more recent snarky battles, such as with Baywatch and Jaxmanjoe.
You phoned me today and offered to send me the many emails you've sent the HOA Office and did not get a response to. Okay, please send them. Like Dwayne's email, that's something I can look into. Quite frankly, I will admit that I don't believe they exist. Please prove me wrong.

Your cause and effects are a bit backwards. Not mowing a drainage ditch does not cause it to be filled with water. A DRAINAGE DITCH tends to have water in it during rainy periods, making it not possible to mow.

As I told you when I looked at this area with you, if you feel this area isn't properly maintained, please send something in writing to the Board. I also agreed with you that the stakes and debris should be removed, and to call the office about it. Have you done that since we last spoke?
If so, please let me know who you spoke to. I can look into it.

You are welcome to put drains on your own property and even pick up some debris in Common Area. But, of course, that's not what you said. I will remind you:
My solution is we will hire another landscaping company to mow & weedwhack the common area and for the courtyard homes that same company can aerate & reseed as HLS did not do provide this service (on our street) last fall and then we will send the HOA the bill.

That you cannot do.I will no longer post on this issue as it is upsetting the sensibilities of some of our other members.
