I can imagine. Looking forward to the Kinect experience on the big screen. Hoping that they have cable extenders so I can run it to the screen wall from the equipment room. Putting in the columns for the surround canopy now and future proofing for 11.1 when the time comes... Slowly but surely making progress, and when it's complete I'm gonna :partybang: . Cheers!

So I finally got around to installing channels 10 & 11 and while it definitely gives the appearance of a larger sound stage, the effect was far less noticeable than DSX wides (which even Audyssey admits). I had the speakers and amplification, so it was 'free'. Would I buys speakers/amps to do it? .. probably not. Its a shame b/c integrating wides into a room is much easier b/c of the placement. Wides are by far the most difficult to get right (60 degrees from center). I'll probably leave the heights and enjoy the 11.2 even though I would love to add two more subs.

Also, for remotes .. I like the URC 450. Its not terribly expensive, can be programmed without the software (which is difficult to get for us DIYers) and the hardware is fantastic. I like the convenience of the Harmony remotes, but the hardware leaves a LOT to be desired. I will admit that the 450 programming takes some getting use to but once you get rolling its wash-rinse-repeat.

I think the only extensions are 10ft which with the cable below would only get you 16ft. Is that enough?

No, just roughing it I'd need around 30 feet. Looks like i need to get creative with the enclosures on the screen wall....

Consider locating the Xbox somewhere in the front/side of the room. You can run an HDMI back to your av rack. You'll have plenty of slack on the kinect cable and give you a little more convenience switching discs.

No I don't. I operate out of my home here in Brambleton. The extent of my advertising are these message boards and simple word-of-mouth from my customers. I'm happy to supply references and I'm sure there's a few that probably have been following this thread the way I have. I'd also be more than happy to take a look at your room and talk about what I can do for you.

I would love to have a get-together! I am open most evenings after 8:30 or on most Fridays too. It would be helpful to see where we are with our varying plans etc. I had a delay on my basement but look good for a summer/fall 2013 build so I am actively planning the Home Theater, game room and movie server....

    Maybe Glory Days this time?

I wish I had the space in my townhouse - I have my Epson 3010 boxed since moving but I'm still in to movies and av so would love to tag along.

    Glory days would be good.

Not quite there yet, although a few items came in last week including the Oppo 103.
Remaining items as far as I can tell include speakers, sub, seats and wall panels.

exlondoner - Coming along nicely ... You didn't list the screen as 'remaining' so do you have it installed? Careful not to fall into the trap of getting it somewhat operational b/c then progress will come to a halt!! :)

If you look closely in the forth picture, you should be able to make out what projector he went with *smile*

I'm good on Thursdays for a meet. Glory Days works.

So I think EX is going CIH but after watching Avengers (1.85:1), I wonder how many new films will go this IMAX route vs 2.35. CIH limits your height unless you just go ridiculous on the size. I currently have a 110" carada screen in 16:9 and I get 55" vertically but I'd probably need high 130s to get the same for HDTV. Not sure I want that much 'immersion' at a 12ft distance.

I was pretty close to going CIH and was just looking for someone interested in my screen to push me over the edge. ;)

Speaking of The Avengers ... Wow, it sounds incredible.

I went 120" 1.85:1 due to watching a lot of 3D content. CIH is cool though; if I had the space I would go that route.

Hey Chad, thanks man - the screen is still in the box along with the receiver and DVD player, I have boxes all over the place - unopened!

Redolant after a *lot* of back n forth and research I went with a JVC RS45. The screen is a 235:1 120" BW.

I'm looking at HT Authority for seats.

I'll be out of town till the end of Nov and then plan to get the speakers and sub.

If we tried to get together next Thursday Nov 1st could that work for most? Meet at Glory Days around 8:30 for a beer....or two?

I too was looking at that JVC projector, but trying to figure out what screen size to go with, and I really want to do CIH - so I am thinking that I will need a screen around 145". I really want that "wow" movie experience primarily and all other viewing and gaming is secondary.
