    This is really nasty -

our dog had a huge cyst on his back that burst open in our kids' bedroom on the carpeted floor. We now have yucky stains on the floor from blood and other funky stuff that came out of this cyst. Does anyone have any good advice on how to get these stains out? We'd like something to try at home first before calling in the professionals. Thanks!

You should try one of the enzyme cleaners. They're supposed to be the best at handling biological stains. It's the only thing I use on cat puke & hairballs, and it's always done the job (although sometimes it takes a few applications). I usually buy Simple Solution (at pet stores), but the one that Walmart sells does pretty well, too.

Hydrogen peroxide and a little soap for surfactant will make it dissapear.

Nature's Miracle - I swear by it! I use it with Bissel's Little Green Machine. My carpet is light ecru(nearly cream) and every thing shows up on it. Its enzymatic so it works on blood, vomit, and all the unmentionables. I've had them all - especially caring for a CRF cat. It's very expensive though...last gallon jug I bought cost $28 at Petco but I believe it's less at Petsmart and sometimes a bargain on-line when one can find it.

I will definitely try this. I have to worry about removing odors too and Nature's Miracle solves this problem without leaving a lingering (perfumey) scent as other cleaners do. Thanks.

We have always used Spot Shot on all of our dogs little donations to the carpet. It works fantastically!

Oxyclean got red paint out of our light carpet - Mixed it w/hot water in a spray bottle & then did the white towel pat down..took more than one time obviously but it worked wonders!
