A neighbor of mine recently (August 2015) lost a black cat that she has owned for a very long time. I told her that I had seen a stray black cat near the Summerbrooke pool in July, but not recently. An inquiry with the lifeguards indicated that a family had come to the pool to claim the black cat.

I have no idea if the black cat that I saw near Summerbrooke pool was indeed my neighbor's black cat. My neighbor however would appreciate some sense of closure on the loss of her cat, and she would like to at least confirm that the stray black cat is, indeed, not her cat.

I am asking anyone who has information on the stray black cat near Summberbrooke pool to reply back to this post. If I get replies, I'll pass it on to my neighbor if I feel the information is useful. Of course it is entirely possible that there were two lost black cats in the area lately, but the odds are low so I figured I'd at least try to help out.

Attached is a picture of the cat taken in mid July 2015.

    Thank you,

@KTdid - thanks for the post. This is most interesting... now we're talking about three lost black cats! I'll inform my neighbor of these forum threads. Thanks again for our help.

Lots of black cats found lately: check out the 'stray cats' page for Loudoun: http://www.loudoun.gov/index.aspx?NID=3282 . Have they reported it missing to the county? If one of the 'found' cats matches your neighbor's lost one, the county has contact information for the people that reported them.

Full disclosure- the cat I posted about before is listed on the website above, and I do live close to the Summerbrooke pool.

What became of the cat trying to get inside your house? Clearly belongs to someone and is confused about where he lives...
