    Hi All!

We went to this market for the first time. It is located off Catocin in Lees burg in the Virginia Village Center (Ben Franklin store is there). It runs from 9AM - Noon, Saturdays, year round, It is very popular and these farmers have been coming to it for years. When you go be sure to bring more than the $60 we did, and you can use a check too, but not a credit card.

You can eat truly organic foods and support the local farmers who use the expensive ways to raise their crops and animals. We are luck in Loudoun County to still have any local farming and we hope to keep it that way!

WOW, we were blown away! Beef, Pork, Lamb, Chicken - you can order your turkey. A dairy which sells European style butter, amazing honey flavored yogurt, mozzarella, creme fraiche, etc. A vendor who sells her own sheep's wool to create with. Salsa's and fruit butters, jelly's and jams. Herbs. A family that makes meals, with samples to try. A local Mediterranean bakery that brings there cookies, croissants, French bread, square pastries filled with fruit or chocolate, and an amazing Italian style loaf with lovely grains...it smelled and tasted heavenly! HUGE apples, with all types sliced up and put onto paper plates for taste testing before you buy.

We will be back next week! Hope to see you there. Come out and support a viable farming community and their families who we all should be glad still exist. Some of them also sell to restaurants locally and in DC.

I am sure I am missing something, but the point is if you want the best pasture raised, grass-fed, no hormones or antibiotic meats, you should be here!

    Brassy@39 and others--

Yes, the Loudoun Farmers' Market is great--we are talking about selling some of our Mennonite products (baked goods, grassfed meats, homemade jams and jellies, produce, eggs, cheeses, yogurts, and dairy) also at the market this year. This would be a "test market" for our Mennonite Bulk Foods/Cafe idea for our business. We are still looking at land to build our business on for the Mennonite Market.

We just returned from the Mid-Atlantic Farm Show this weekend and came back with alot of ideas for our farm and businesses.

Do support your local farmers--web site(s) are below--

    www.loudounfarms.org (Loudoun Farmers' Market site/info.)

    Good eats--
