Two questions for those who have experience with them:

    1. Are they really strict on the ages for the camps? If a camp says ages 4-5, does that mean I cannot sign up my child who will have turned 6 just a few weeks before said camp?

    2. In general, are they well run? I've never dropped my youngins off at a camp like this before, so I'm a little nervous. Tell me the good, bad and ugly, please!

It's been many years since my kids were involved but they enjoyed the activities and they seemed well organized.

Our daughter has attended the PRCS all-day "Summer Daze" camps for the past 3 years now. I think it would depend on which camp you're talking about as to how it is. However, the Summer Daze so far has been staffed by competent individuals, often college-age kids with enthusiasm along with older adults with discipline from the CASA program. My daughter seemed to enjoy and relax at C3 Cyber Club more, but she can't seem to convince her friends to join her there, and she'd rather be with her friends.

In Summer Daze, there's a LOT of kids. Even though they try to break it up by age within the large group, it's my impression that mostly they stay together in the same big auditorium/cafeteria even if they're in small groups with a counselor inside of that. So it's loud, and they have to keep busy. They do a field trip once a week and pool once a week. C3 Cyber Club has much fewer overall kids, have a daily field trip, and the kids can get downtime with video games or computer time in small groups or on their own. Plus, they have computer classes they can do.

Anyway, hope that gives you an idea of ONE PRCS camp. But I think it would definitely depend on the camp you choose.
