Just got a new quote from NaturaLawn for 2022 services and was STUNNED that they have increased their costs by nearly 10%!!!

With that being said -- am going to check with other organic lawn service company to do price comparisons...

I am wondering if it is necessary to do soil testing every year on the lawn because Im finding out through Virginia Tech Cooperative Extension center that it is NOT recommended to do every year but rather anywhere from 3 to 5 years instead. They stated that its a way for the companies to make additional income by insisting that they do soil testing every year. They say that its a good way for consumers to waste their dollars by getting it every year when there is NO benefit to doing so. They recommend farmers to do it annually due to crops....not grass.

Plus Va Tech extension center charges only 10 bucks when the commercial companies charge more than double that ($25 +).

This cost increase is just CRAZY....

Service called me back saying that their core supplier raised their prices by double so they were forced to pass along to consumers!
I liken this to supplier profiteering- COVID doesn’t cause prices to go up- suppliers are raising prices because they can and they are making record profits/ why do you think the wealthiest 1% are getting richer? I’ve managed to more than double my investments in last 6 months!!!! I bought several stocks that had to do with energy and chip manufacturing - both up 135%

I've used NaturaLawn for over a decade. Their prices have crept up over the years and I get a chuckle from the annual soil reports. They do a decent job to keep things growing and green. I have not seen their rate increase yet for 2022.

Are there any other "natural" lawn care folks out there for cost comparison?

When was the last time they increased prices? I've had lawn care from the same company for 4-5 years and not a single price increase. This year their will be one but don't think it's that big of a deal to pay 10% more (or whatever it was) given I have not had any increase for several years.

I agree with this. Manufacturers and suppliers raising because of COVID and jumping on the inflation bandwagon (i.e like an inflation tax) to put a little more in their pocket and blame it on inflation.

BTW, doubled in past 6 months is very impressive....congrats. Market has been pretty volatile of late.

Its been driving me NUTS being so VOLATILE!!! Im like argh every time it goes down and then back up like a seesaw....but two of my stocks took off like a bat outta hell. I foresaw them going up ahead of time when I heard that natural gas was going to be pricey overseas and here...so it was good timing...Its helping my portfolio but the other stocks have me frustrated with this going up and down. With the government's fiscal policy changes and the inflation, this isn't helping anyone right now- I feel bad for the elderly right now because their IRAs and Pensions are being slammed by inflation...

They increase rates every year, they've told me. But this year was the MOST because of "inflation". I call BS. Ive seen rates increase for all of the organic lawn companies as of lately....Im toying with the idea of doing it myself this year because not every company is giving fat salary increases to their workers. E.g, My company isn't going crazy giving out pay increases to their workers because they have shareholders that they need to return profits to. Sucks. So some of the workers are not getting 10% increases. Why should I give one company 10% more when another caps it at 5%? I'd be hard pressed to throw away 5% more when both have the same products to put on the grass?
