Hi! My name is Courtney Barnes and I just finished my freshman year at James Madison University. I'm home for the summer and looking to give younger kids some lessons! I am a music education major so I am looking for some more experience giving lessons. I also gave lessons as a high schooler to middle school students as community service for the Music Honors Society, Tri-M, at Stone Bridge High School.

If you are interested: maybe want to get your soon to be middle schooler familiar with their instrument before school starts, or don't want your kids to forget their scales  , you can e-mail me at: barnesca@jmu.edu for more information.

    Thanks! :D

what about for adults? I have a soprano sax that I was SURE I could play since I can play the clarinet... but it became obvious QUICKLY that it ain't easy bein' Kenny G!!! lol

email me your rates if you are interested- I'd love to learn to play.

Sorry! The soprano sax is the only one I haven't played yet. But good luck with that! I sent you an e-mail with a few tips that I could think of.

I don't discriminate against teaching adults, I just figured that as far as ability level, it would be easiest for me to teach children since I am not a professional yet.

To make it clear for other viewers, my main instrument is the flute. I've played it for 7 years and play piccolo as well. I've played the saxophone for 3-4 years and have spent most of my time with alto and baritone saxophones, but can do tenor as well.

I can vouch for her ... she's GREAT with kids and even better at the flute! (I've been listening to her for that 7 years :D )
