Just over the last few weeks we've had Netflix stop mid-movie a few times. Restarting the movie it then works fine - sometimes have had to restart more than twice. It also seems to be pixelating somewhat.

Running it on a Windows 7 computer, hooked up to the TV. Hardwired Gigabit to the router.

Saw this article today, which made me wonder if anyone else had problems where Verzion FIOS and Netflix were involved?

"After a federal court said last month that the government couldn't prohibit Internet providers from slowing or blocking Web traffic, at least one ISP is being accused of taking advantage of the ruling."

lots of info on this out there. Same issue of Netflix throttling has been reported on most major cable providers -- Netflix is a content competitor. I haven't done this yet, but there are speed test programs out there to see what your ISP is doing to certain types of traffic (bit torrent, netflix, etc.).

my daughter watches Netflix all day/night it seems, and we haven't had any issues. you may be having issues with the FiOS provided router. they are pretty bad, especially under heavy loads.

When we're watching though loads are not heavy. Thanks for the data point though.

Just hung up. I reloaded the movie and hit resume (minutes 1 and 2) - here is a router screenshot, worked fine for the first few hours tonight...

"Netflix's payments to Verizon for a direct connection to its network didn't result in immediate improvements for the companies' joint subscribers, but they're finally paying off with better video performance. Verizon FiOS actually topped all other major ISPs in Netflix performance in September with an average stream rate of 3.17Mbps, Netflix said today."
