Parallel Wine Bistro and those out there with food allergies

    I have allergies to certain nuts as well (peanuts and sesame) and it is a fact that all nuts are processed in the same factory by the same machines, therefore, cross contamination is a very high risk. There are very rare peanut free specialty stores (found on on Vancouver Island on the West coast) but haven't seen one since...
    Therefore, I never order anything with nuts when I go out. The best way to eat nuts for me is buying them hole (in the husk)!
    Sorry to hear about your misadventures at that restaurant. It is hard to live with allergies! It was good of the restaurant not to make you pay for the dinner although they should have never served you a nut dish. I myself would have never ordered one... Too dangereous since I know the risks!
