    Service Update: February 1, 2021:

Please be advised that due to inclement weather and current road conditions, our crews will be operating on Monday, February 1st, but will start their routes 2 hours late and will only work until dark, road conditions permitting. If your items are not collected, please leave them out and we will attempt to provide service on Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on the weather.

Quick Update - due to the inclement weather, icy roads, and more sleet and snow expected today, Patriot Disposal will NOT be picking up trash today. Next scheduled trash pickup will be on THURSDAY morning.

This is what was sent out by Patriot Disposal this morning -

Please be advised that due to inclement weather and current road conditions, our trucks will not be running on Monday, February 1st.
HOA services will resume on your next regularly scheduled collection day.
For the Town of Leesburg, trash and recycling will be collected in both Northwest Leesburg and Northeast Leesburg inside the bypass on Tuesday.
Commercial services will be delayed by one day, weather and road conditions permitting. Please keep dumpster areas clear of snow and ice to allow us safe access for collection.
We apologize for any inconvenience. Please stay safe as these weather conditions continue.

Today is Feb 25th- and it’s now 11:10PM and on Ridgeway Drive, NONE of the recyclables was picked up by Patriot Disposal and I am sure many are quite disappointed with the lack of disposal pickup today and that is TWICE they’ve not picked up. This means we will AGAIN have to wait til NEXT Thursday to have our recycling picked up.

Can the HOA ask them to pick it up on Saturday so that our trash won't get much larger next Thursday as we haven't had our recyclables picked up for two weeks now......

Yea, that's weird, ours was picked up yesterday as usual and we live near Ridgeway. I would call Patriot to confirm and then complain. They track their trucks and will know what happened.

UPDATE: Just learned this AM that they finally picked them up....weird as I would have liked it it PATRIOT DISPOSAL had put something on their website for certain neighborhoods to know that they are planning to pick up the next day because some neighors were ticked off that they put their stuff away when they didn't get picked up only to learn (Too late) that it got picked up the next day....

Hope that Patriot can better communicate to the community next go around.

I see a lot of trash that Patriot Disposal decided not to pick up today (3/18). This is not the first time they have decided not to bring a whole crew out on Thursday to collect trash that will not fit into the bin. Is there a rhyme or reason why Patriot disposal does this? It cant be because of a little rain..

I think our HOA payments to them should be reduced if they are reducing our service. Or its time to look for another trash company to take over this contract.

Now we watch as trash is scattered through our neighborhood.

Our trash has been picked up by the driver - working solo for the last two weeks. Maybe they have a shortage of workers.

No issues here except they didn’t FULLY empty my bin- I guess they are either lazy or short-staffed.

I seriously DOUBT they will refund the $$$ once contract was executed.

For the longest time---we figured it out, Monday was bin only...but Thursday was a free-for-all, you could put anything out there and they collected it. Last Thursday, i had an extra item (not the stack of furniture and boxes and whatever else they'll usually take) next to my trashcan...and they had the truck with the arm....and two guys. One guy got out of the truck to move what i had leaning against the bin....so they could use the auto-arm to get the bin, and didn't take the other item. I may just start making trips to the dump like the good ol days.

You pretty much have to call in for a "special" pickup for items that do not fit into your bin. No charge, but still a PITA.

So we have to call now on anything that doesn't fit? I have another large box full of the packing material from the item we purchased. Way to much to fit in the bin and again not taken today. I'm fine if it's like every other Thursday or whatever but I've seen them pick up items on monday or thursday and there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to when they pick up or when they don't. I just keep putting it out at the street and it does eventually get picked up. According the the BHOA website
    • Important: All trash needs to be placed in your toter. Any trash that won’t fit and is left outside the container will not be collected until the scheduled trash day, therefore, please hold on to any trash that will not fit until then.
so.. what's the scheduled trash day? Seems to be whatever they feel like.

yeah---my wife called and they're coming thursday to get an old mattress (which i was surprised was "free")...but if we have an extra box as well, or something, they said it might be a $45 charge. Whatever...

This was my understanding as well. Bin only on Mondays, and everything else (bin and trash that does not fit in the bin, but is stacked orderly next to the bin) on Thursday.

Looks like it is more of a "whenever they feel like it"

It's always been trash 2x/week - Mondays and Thursdays and recycling 1x/week on Thursdays.

I just got a call back from a representative at patriot. Anything outside the bin will not be picked up without a call to set up a work order. There is no special pickup for recycling and all recycling must fit within the bin.

TBH the people at the call center sound slammed and it takes a few minutes for them to setup that work order. So there ya go. Do your best to fit everything in the bin with the lid closed or you gotta call.

Thanks for the follow up, Soul. This is a change from the past years and I assume it has to do with Covid...From now on I will be calling patriot for anything that does not fit in the bin. Appreciate your support in getting to the bottom of this.
