Has anyone had their front door restained? If so, how much does this work generally cost and how long does it take?

I thought they were painted... but where are you, SW, North, townhouse, or SF?

If if you have a wood door, it would have to be sanded down, then restained, then sealed.

If it was done in place, expect that you'd have to worry about weather. If it was taken down to be done, I expect that 3 or 4 days in a shop would be about right, to cover drying time between coats.

If you have a painted door, it'll take about a half hour for each coat.

Not to mention that if you're changing the color, you need to get an approval from the Modifications Subcommittee.
