    Dear Broadlands Neighbors,
Each year, local Cub Scout Packs conduct their Scouting for Food (SFF) community service project. Last year, the local District collected over 100,000 pounds of food!
We collect non-perishable food items for local food kitchens and this less fortunate that we are. This year, you’ll see Scout running around dropping off SFF bags (white with red and black print) at your homes on Saturday, November 1st between 8 am and noon (or about that time). They may tie them to mailbox posts, front doors, or garage doors. And, a few may slip off and be on your front lawn We ask that you take them in a fill them with non-perishable food items in can or boxes (please, no glass containers).
On Saturday, November 8th, the scouts will be back between 8 am and noon picking up the bags from your front door step. We do encourage the Scouts to knock on doors if the bag is not out front so expect a knock if you’ve forgotten to put the SFF bag out.
We thank you in advance for your contribution. If you see the Scouts around, please give them a shout out!

rharse, :) Looking forward to supporting the Boy Scouts SFF again this year! I'll have my bag filled and on my front porch early Saturday morning.
Please pass the word to the Boy Scouts that also on Saturday, November 8th (around 10am) several members of Girl Scout Troop 1380 that live on/around Stone Hollow Drive will be collecting Paper Goods to support the Loudoun Homeless Services Center. The girls distributed Harris Tetter bags with an attached flyer to over 100 homes on Stone Hollow Drive, Cloverleaf Court, Park Brook Court, Stonestile Place, Heritage Oak Court, Oakpost Court and Ridgeway Drive between Stone Hollow Drive and Oakpost Court on Wednesday, October 29th. As part of their community service project/Bronze Award the girls are collecting paper goods for the Loudoun Homeless Shelter's emergency cold weather shelter (which is scheduled to open on November 15th). If the Boy Scouts see paper goods (toliet paper, paper towels, tissues, dinner napkins, trash bags, etc) at a home on any of these streets could you please ask them to leave the bag on the porch and the girls will be by to pick it up between 10 and 11am (or about that time). Thanks!!!!

Neighbors, If anyone wants to contribute to the Girl Scout Troop's paper drive and did not receive a bag/flyer, please consider stopping by Giant (by Home Depot) between 11am and 3pm on Sunday, November 9th and dropping off your paper good donations. The troop is also happy to accept coats (especially men's), which are also needed by the shelter at this time.

Thank you neighbors for supporting our local Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops!

Is there a drop-off if your bags are not picked up by 11am?

KTdid, did your bags not get picked up? We had to have all the food collected and turned in by noon on Saturday. I don't think there is any drop-off or make-up planned, but I can ask our scout master.
