Does anyone know why the parking at the buildings off Red Rum and Ashburn Village Blvd is supposedly secure? I was told I could not drive there because it is a secure facility. So what is the business there that is supposed to be secure and why if it is, they have not posted any no trespassing signs or similar warnings? Typically a secure facility would have obvious measures in place to keep the public out. Any ideas ??

a quick search of secured facilities comes up with http://www.sliqua.com/network.html
but this doesn't answer the questions about why the public can't be in the parking lot. Under what authority do they believe they can keep you out, especially when there are multiple building there which are vacant or will be open to the public ( Golds Gym) any thoughts?

Well, it's private property and they can impose any restrictions that they want. Of course, this will have to change when the gym opens, but for now, the property management can choose to restrict access to their property.

granted the Owner can restrict access. I don't believe the data center is the property owner but a tenant. Why would they build there secure facility with all the storefronts if it were.

Why not call the property management company and find out? I would try to call the number they have on the Leasing sign as a first start.

sounds to me 'secure' means in this case simply not open to the public. AKA don't wander around here and leave.

Probably has to do with some internet company who does secure transactions or such

Yeah, some of these facilities have floor to roof glass, then it looks like offices, but that is all fake. :p

That datacenter Was Prymes datacenter who was sold to Latisys after prymes short lived life which turned into a failure. That single building morphed into the building that ODINE? is in and has rights/ability to build more buildings in the field next to it. Along with this they are also bringing in 30MW worth of power to the buildings.

In short expect more generators and more datacenter space to pop up in that complex.

Its not really "secure" but follows pretty much every standard in terms of security that Equinix/DRT/DFT would follow.

That sliqua website belongs to the "head noc engineer" who runs a shared web hosting company within their facility.

tbh they took the space with the "anticipation" of growing quickly and taking all 3 buildings. But ended up in a utter failure and now Golds is moving in next to them.

Kinda a odd situation and location to be in and I am sure the VC's and people who run Latisys are not real happy about it.
