So my PC-cillin keeps blocking a greyware program I suppose rode in on my Weather Bug install. It's called ADW_WBSEARCH and it's impossible to get rid of, even with add/delete programs. It is the Weather Bug Browser Bar powered by MyWebSearch. Anyone have this beast and been successful getting rid of it? (SpyBot, Adaware, Spyware Doctor and the MS Windows Defender have just been laughed at by this cretin as they can't even find it.)

I had something nasty a couple of years ago that I’m pretty sure came with Weatherbug. Adaware, SpyBot, etc. didn’t get rid of it. I ended up using HighjackThis to create a log, post it on a Computer Help forum, and have them analyze it and tell me what to delete of from my registry. A real PITA, but it worked.

Go to your my programs Folder in Explore and find the folder MyWebSearch make the window a size that you can see your recycle bin and MOVE it to the recyle bin dont right click it!

Then empy your recyle bin and then the MyWebSearch should appear in the add/Remove programs list

Ive fixed my brothers computer with 95 Viruses on it so if you need anything just drop me a buzz.

Also try some other Anti spyware programs Like "Adaware and Spysweeper" Adaware is free and you can get a free trial of spysweeper~

Found some links to pages which describe how to disbale it, etc...

Hope this puts you on the right track; interestingly, many sites seem to indicate that that tools you mentioned above should/do remove that type of spyware. In fact, I remember using Defender to remove a Websearch toolbar from someone's computer a few months ago...

    Good luck!
