    1. Determine whether a local store can fulfill your need. Instead of purchasing through Amazon or a corporate website, determine whether a local store has the item. The store might even be able to deliver.

    2. If you purchased from Amazon in the past, check whether your order was fulfilled by a third party small business. Go directly through the small business. Many times, the cost is the same or cheaper once the Amazon middle-man cut is removed. Amazon is prioritizing the products it stocks, so this might be the better option for some items anyway.

    3. Buy online from reputable small businesses, which have a secure online checkout. Even if the store is not local to you, the business is a local business somewhere.

Support the local restaurants. - Order take out and tip as well. Fords is struggling. Help them out, among other places.

    From the Washington Post:
Consider purchasing a gift card. Gift cards are like interest-free loans. Having some income from the gift cards could help a [business] get back up and running again.

Hand sanitizer (coming soon)...and gin, whiskey, and brandy

    Catoctin Creek Distillery
    (Purcellville)

    https://catoctincreekdistilling.com/

    According to the website:

They made the switch to hand sanitizer. With the first batch of sanitizer, they were able to serve over 100 families, six police stations, two emergency services, two hospitals, one senior center, and the FAA in Leesburg.
They have ordered supplies and ingredients to make more, and they should arrive this week. Check the website for updates.

The distillery store is curbside pickup only. Call 540-751-3294 to place your order, credit cards only, and they will bring it out to you by the yellow curb in front of the building. All products are still available.

Picking up fish and chips at Ford’s Fish Shack. Glad to see they’ve got at least 7-8 orders waiting to go out the door. Curbside pickup works great and they said they’re doing pretty good.

Another way to help is to add store-branded merchandise (shirts, hats, etc.) to your order.
