SWHOA moved the monthly meetings to Fairfax

Maybe the lawyers offices are out that way, would save $ on gas/mileage expenses.

 

In all seriousness I will say this. Personally, with meetings in Fairfax, it guarantees that I can not attend ANY meetings for the entire FY2014 year. I am not happy about that, but maybe I am in a small minority. Since most people do not even attend meetings, perhaps the pain threshold is a moot issue.

And remember, meetings include hearings, attorney's presentations, and First Service so they (in my opinion) drive some of the schedule requirements. However, I would argue that the SWHOA should make every possible effort to hold meetings in the Broadlands Community each and every month. That may mean having meetings on different nights and different locations, but at least they would be local and provide a better opportunity for homeowners to attend. I contacted the BHOA to confirm the policy of allowing access to community facilities (minus the Nature Center) and we (the SWHOA) can meet any where else - schedule permitting, during the week.

Considering the multiple legal cases (Openband, BHOA, homeowner), this seems really important to me. I do not want to be the only squeaky wheel, so unless other homeowners express their concerns, I think this will just be SOP for the year. Maybe I am the only one?

You are not the only one. I started attending at the end of last year (ok, I only made two meetings, so I really was just starting) and was planning to be as active as my schedule allowed this year. With the meetings moved to Fairfax, there is only a very slight chance that I will attend any meetings. I have made my disappointment in the Board's decision to move the meetings to Fairfax known to a Board member.

 

SWHOA Board meetings have been moved back to Broadlands. Meetings start at 6:30pm in the Broadlands Community Center (43004 Waxpool Road).

It would be interesting to see how many directors attended the meetings in Fairfax.

The only one that's incorrect is the August one, all the others are Mondays. Maybe it should have said Thursday, August 14th? Has anybody PM'd the OP of this post about the August date?

 

The letter dated July 8th has the correct dates. The August meeting is Monday the 18th at 6:30. Not sure where anyone got the 14th from. The other dates posted above are correct.

 

Likely a typo on my part.
