Have you had to replace your mailbox lock? Where did you buy it and did you install it yourself? I'm told USPS is not responsible for maintaining the locks or keys.

We paid the USPS $30 - $35 last year to replace our lock. They also gave us 3 keys for the new lock.

Thank you. I found a lot of conflicting information on their website and they made it sound like it was the responsibility of the resident.

Ours was damaged earlier this month, and went to USPS, paid $30 and they will provide 3 new keys. It may take a week.

Same here. They said they would call me in a week to pick up the keys.

Update: USPS changed the lock Saturday and delivered the keys just 2 days after submitting the request.
