The last several days my call quality has degraded exponentially. I have verizon. When I make outgoing calls the call is choppy, goes in and out and I keep breaking up to the point that the person I called cannot hear me or understand what I am saying. Has anyone experienced this within the last week? Called VZ tech line and they were of no help. Went into the store and they weren't helpful either.

Thinking about switching carriers at this point. Anyone with tmobile and att who can share their experience? Hesitant to get a new carrier and run into the same issues.

has this issue been happening only around the broadlands area? have you tried to use the phone outside of broadlands? when you use it in your house, is your wifi signal on? how old is the phone? do you think there are any hardware issues with it? was it dropped?

i wanted to ask some other questions to help you troubleshoot this issue.

Many of the neighbors around me are having the same issue when using the phone inside their homes. Outside of the neighborhood there are no issues.

Called vz multiple times and they're clueless. They keep saying that I must live in a rural area with poor cell signal. I explain that it is a new issue spanning multiple neighbors or multiple streets throughout the neighborhood. It does not seem to sink in that they may have a widespread network issue.

Will probably switch to another carrier soon since using our cell phones in the house/neighborhood is impossible and not to mention I am paying for a service that is unusable.

I get 1 - 2 bars out of 5 on my cell service up on Highview Trail and Verizon has always been like that. Cell quality in the area is really hit or miss. The thing that I laugh the most about is over at Lost Rhino brewery, across from Verizon's big installation, I can't even send texts sometimes.

I have 5 bars and never had any issues before. A neighbor on stone hollow, by claiborne, can't even use her cell phone for calls. Said its been like that for the last month. Not sure what is going with vz but they need to get themselves together and fix this issue instead of shrugging it off.

Signal in Marburg Terrace and Avonworth have never been good, I have the iPhone 11, and unlimited data, and it works perfectly fine at reasonable speeds in other locations, but not where I mentioned. It's definitely something out of control for us.

My calls too get dropped frequently. I have had to go outside on the porch to finish conversations. So this is not as isolated as I originally thought.

Doesn't seem to be isolated. A couple neighbors have ATT and they said they haven't had issues with their service. I called VZ again, spoke to tier 2 tech support, and no new information, they keep claiming that it must be poor tower coverage in the area. They're not understanding (or maybe they don't want to) that this issue is new.

My issue started with the rollout of 5G - thinking it could be the sim card and communication. Now I'm not so sure what is the cause.

i purchased a new iphone with VZ last sept and i noticed that the 5G UW does not seem to work very well in and around broadlands (especially down Claiborne).

Is the 5G rollout still underway? I thought that was done a while ago? I thought it was my sim card at first as well so i went into a store and got a replacement. Didn't help at all.

In our neighborhood (near High View Trail) I've noticed that my Verizon signal switches back and forth from LTE to 5G, but the 5G bars are 1 or 2 max, so perhaps it is related to their recent rollout of 5G. I've heard that while 5G is faster, the signal does not travel as far and at lower signal strength it can be worse than LTE. There has always been a dead spot down near the intersection of Claiborne and Stone Hollow. Might be time to make a switch.

It's strange since there is a tower off Belmont. We should all get 5 bars you would think.
